I'm tip toeing the long way around that City for a while.

It's not even a shock. Leeds is a right hole and birds from that City are rank! Even the fit ones, you can tell you don't want to touch them.

Some birds in Yorkshire are amazing though! Met a couple of stunners from Huddersfield, Wakey and Halifax in my travels around that area.

Closest I've been to Leeds is Dewsbury, have family that live there, but was never out in Leeds from memory. Can't recall, spent most of the time drunk

*Also some from* Wakey and Halifax

Leeds isn't a hole. Wakefield and Huddersfield are horrible however.

Just so long as you avoid Oldham, Macclesfield and Scunthorpe, it's all good.

I expect you would anyway regardless

I like Dewsbury. Becoming more and more a mini Bradford though, which is a shame. Real lack of integration.

This is incorrect. And the words of someone who has never lived in any of them Leeds is absolutely the worst City in this country when you're not a student. Worse than London.

Haven't been in over 10 years Pedro. Found a nice social club and the ale was top notch. Unfortunately I lost my wallet having had three or four too many.

And this was only the first day

West Yorkshire Ale is the best in the country, and so far as I've found the best in Britain. Some of the local breweries around that area and unbelievably good, and because their are so many to choose from and they're all at such a high level already, the consistency is stunning. Real coup for place.

Most of the big cities in this country are holes, the only time I've found peace and comfort is in the South West. Go to the likes of Devon or Cornwall and you'll love it.

When was the last time you were in Leeds? The city centre is pretty good now. There are of course some rough areas around the outskirts, but that is the same for every city.

I think my favourites are Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin (can Dublin count?) and Devon Mata's.

What? Leeds has some of the best nightlife going and isn't too big that you have to spend all night in taxis getting around the bars. It has also undergone some major regeneration and there is some serious money being invested as we speak. There are cranes everywhere.

To be honest, I can't even remember any of the names of the ales. You wouldn't find anything like that over here in Belfast pubs and clubs, but any time I'm across the water, I drink nothing but ale.

It's just a student-metropolis in the middle, and then completely shrite outside it. And that FRUCKING one-way system! Hate when work takes me into that crunt hole of a city.

Students and cranes. Awesome

The place is shrit unless you're from there or a student. Once you're not, it's utterly crap.

You really need to pay another visit and have a good look around if you think it is all for students. Seriously. When was the last time you went out for a night?

The cranes show that the city is thriving and there is a reason it is one of the biggest growing cities in the country.

I can agree with you about the one way system, although I know my way around it pretty well, so it isn't a big deal for me any more.

The one good thing about Leeds, and I will give it this, is that at least when the nobhead locals of the city centre emerge, they cover up the smell a bit. Architecture is rubbish, culture is pathetic considering the surrounding area's rich history during the industrial revolution and fans of Leeds United and the Rhino's are scrum.

Visit the Royal Armouries, get over to Beirkeller if you've not been to one before and the get the F out.

Went to Cardiff two years ago and it was beautiful as well, there was this huge forest that led to a huge waterfall which was great. The lake water was so clean and fresh too.

Are students and cranes the UK version of boats'n'hoes?
