130 wicketless overs of spin in this match... crikey. That's just pathetic.

Yep the flack Rashid has been getting look abit unfair after this pointless day of test cricket.

You need a specialist spinner to breakthrough on these type of wickets. Neither side has them. Although Pakistan do in the form of Yasir shah, but his injury a few hours before the start led to the massive likelihood of a wasted and drawn test match.

Mark Footitt signs for Surrey

Hopefully he'll get a look in with England now.

I happened to spy Samit Patel in the England dressing room. hes been on the munchies again...

Anyhow England don't have any class spinners. Just average at best. The selectors need to pull their finger out and find one.

How do we see the last 2 days panning out in this test?? personally cant see anything but a draw.. England would need to collapse in the first session tomorrow.
Eng will get pretty close to the Pakistan score..and Pakistan will bat out the remaining time.
Shame really. I hate seeing draws in test cricket.,

I cant see anything other than a draw. No way any team is taking 20 wickets on this surface

If England can push on and get to a lead of 120 going into the last day...... Then. We have seen the jitters amongst Pakistan. You just never know. But 90% draw.

I'd say 99.9999999999999999999%. We don't have a spinner that can scare batsmen into losing their wicket, let alone find something to exploit from this lifeless pitch

Only England can win this game for me now. Lose 3 quick wickets and Pakistan will have some jitters.

Once Joe Root gets in...this farce will be over as a snore draw

This pitch is as flat as a pancake, let's hope cook and root can bat until the end of play on day 5.

I haven't seen any of this game but is the pitch suitable for ODI cloggers? If so the thought of Root, Johnny B, Stokes & Jos to come is inviting.

Cook at one held holding things down while the other blokes give the fielders a bit of practice?

Or is it too hot?

Cook dropped again - for the second time. All good about us complaining about pitches but if you're going to drop catches you won't win matches

Catching has been dreadful but this wicket is diabolical. The groundsman who happens to be English needs to be fired and PCB should be fined.

This is boring the hell out of me. am totally losing interest in cricket. the wickets in England summer before last were a joke. at least they prepared result wickets this summer...

has for catching England and Pakistan share something in common there.. neither are any good at it.

I'd rather watch IPL than this crap. Good job I decided against working from home this week.

Agree on the point about fine for PCB. I think ECB got fined and warning over Trent bridge pitch in 2014 after it was rated "poor"..... Probably should apply here too...

I don't have a problem with flat pitches... All sub-continent pitches are flat ffs, but the problem here is that it's just too slow. Way too slow.

Blaming us for this pitch , it was the Facking PCB that prepared it

Also umpires have been terrific this match, giving us everything that's the way it should be

posted on 16/10/15

Root upping things now. It's quite tempting to bat until the end of day 5 as there's about a 0.001% chance of a result on this pitch.

Sub continent wickets are flat...but they do assist the spinners.

Would this game have been a different story if Ajmal was playing?
