People complaining about the pitch and whether it is fit for cricket should give it a rest I think.

When determining that you need to ask yourself one question:

If this pitch was in England, would Virat Kohli score runs on it?

Exactly. It's good to go.

Its no worse than lords on some days....the problem I have is why the feck they are playing in UAE in front of 47 people and a dog...it's pointless ffs

Alot of pressure on those first few Pakistan wickets, and I said before this series, that the 1 thing they lack, is some bottle.

Lets just see if I was right.....

Sheriff,

Agree with you regards to crowd. But Lanka are playing Windies at the moment and the crowds there aren't any better... Maybe you can add two cats to the dog. Problem with UAE is that the Arabs aren't interested in the cricket and the south Asians there are too busy working and that's why you see massive crowds for odis and T20 because generally there are day nighters. Not an ideal place, but conditions and circumstances are such that paks have little other alternatives.....

Australia and England apart, test cricket attendance is in the decline. Fact. The Cape Town tests apart, even the Saffers aren't that interested. Total shame.

Also, cast your mind back to last year.... England vs Lanka at headingley. One of the best tests I've seen live. Utterly appalling attendances. I was there day 4 and 5.... But sadly the ground was 80% empty with blue and white seats.... So even in England, unless it's a Aussie / Saffers series, it's touch and go.

The biggest attendances in England, by far, would be India.

I went too 3 friendlies, with county teams, with both teams putting out some reserves too.....all 3 times the grounds were full....again, these were friendlies\warm up games!

Also, forgot to add, England India games in England are generally well attended, but that's probably more to do with the fact that they are generally over in 2 days - for obvious reasons!!

And in 2008. West Brom v Wolves was voted as the fiercest football rivalry in England....

In all seriousness I couldn't care less about India or Pakistan, so from an English point of view the only big one is the ashes

I dont know where to start...

Obviously you are only interested in your own team, that goes without saying. But if you look at it from a pure cricketing viewpoint the ashes isn't all that. Sky do well to advertise it and get the interest going and bring in the revenue....

The Ashes of late have been incredibly overrated. Australia-South Africa encounters have a legitimate argument for being the flagship test series over the preceding decade. The 2005 Ashes was honestly the last thrilling England-Australia test series where every day had some twists and turns. 2009 was alright, but the ones following that have been predictably one sided as test sides barring South Africa have found it luxurious to win abroad....... The 2015 ashes was a battle between one mediocre team against another one in transition.

From a pure cricketing perspective India v pakistan is also mediocre v mediocre.
Obviously the population of the two countries makes it a more widely watched match, but similarly makes it concerning why these two countries haven't pulled ahead of the rest. With the amount of people they have to choose from

Seems England's boundaries, in cricket, span beyond their borders...... And the ECB have hit quite a few sixes in recent years

India don't play Pakistan.... India bully world cricket... The Ashes is the ultimate.. India... You will never play in them.. That's why you talk bulls*it! 😂
