a return to form for wolves and for HMHW's match threads today...

Great cut and paste job, thank you Halfy.

Can't believe that Daryl Murphy has scored more goals than Benik. Cinci told me he was crappe.

yes but I'm sure cinci will tell us that his total yardage is less than afobe's and Ipswich have completed less passes than any other side therefore none of his goals really count and they should really not be in the top 6, or something

's only got twice as many points as us because they've played more games.

has plenty of time to turn it round, if he has the nous.

luckily bute, as we were told repeatedly last season, points from games in the second half of the year are worth more than points in the first half.

?

Ipswich have played 2 more matches than us and have 7 more points. If we win our games in hand, we'll still be behind them.

tbf if we win both our games in hand i'll be delighted and a little surprised. Ipswich aren't actually the benchmark for the season however, 6th place and upwards is?

For me, the target is 1st with 2nd being acceptable. 3rd to 6th only gives us a 25% chance of promotion and can be a lottery at best.

Beautiful day in the West Midlands, hope that's a key to a sparkling Wolves performance. Apart from the first 30 minutes against QPR I don't think we have seen a cohesive midfield showing all season. It's something Kenny needs to get right soon if we are to have a decent season

cyp,

I'd love us to win the league, but I don't think that is the club's ambition. with the pretty feeble squad we've assembled based on young potential, lower league average players, and a reducing number of experienced wolves players, I believe M&M see balancing the books as their first priority, mid table or better as second, and in an ideal world enough time spent hovering around the edges of the play-offs to keep the crowds around 19,000 with a vague hope of scraping top 6 by end of season.

I look forward to all the speculation in January, of players we might have bought but just missed out on due to derby/cardiff/bristol city outbidding us. and the long drawn out rumours of a man united 'c' team loanee that never quite happens, with him eventually moving to qpr in march to wrap up their promotion.

I had my awards dinner at the cricket club lad night and didn't win bowler of the year.

So Wolves better win today to help me feel better. Particularly as I projectile vomited when I got home and am in trouble with the missus today.

Cricket is banned on the match threads

Luckily, projectile vomit isn't banned and is readily welcomed

I agree with you, gb and that's a pretty miserable outlook as a Wolves fan. We should be looking to do better, but with Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey in charge, trying to compete on the cheap appears to be The Plan as Tatter describes it.

It may work and a decent batch of young players coming through gives us a "shot", but we all know that without promotion, Iorfa, Afobe, Hause et al will all be gone by next Summer.

Vomit faster than your bowling, Tam?

Probably Cyp. I don't really remember it, but the toilet seat was a right state this morning.

We'll become a feeder club
It's the inevitable outcome Cyp and I'm afraid that's is good as it's going to get, I just hope the lads can do it but I think I'll be worm grub before me babbies will again dine at the top table

Apparently drunk me had tried to clean it up, done a bad job, denied being sick and blamed the missus for the mess.
