Yeah I would drop Him and play lamela Eriksen and son behind kane at the moment
Would play exactly the same forward line myself chronic
He needs Rose behind him overlapping creating space on the inside for him to attack.
Still created a few chances yesterday though but at least we have a wealth of talent now to play behind Kane
Eriksen, Son, Chadli, Lamela, Pritchard, Njie, Dembele, Alli
My 3 behind Kane would be So, Eriksen & Alli ( assuming Mason/ Bentaleb are fit to play alongside Dier)
Like you say we have lots of options behind Kane
I'd also have Chadli as Kane's replacement for the time being
Chadli upfront? Not for me mate.
The problem is that both Chadli and Kane are performing poorly so when you replace Chadli with Eriksen for instance we still need a striker to finish off chances.
If Kane isn't providing that then naturally we would look to playing Son up there, but that would just mean having to play Alli in the middle and Lamela on the right (which he isn't effective from) or playing Townsend which we all know isn't the greatest footballer or maybe even N'Jie which we haven't seen much from.
It's a bit of a domino effect unless you decide to completely remove the players off form and instead have a line-up similar to;
================Son
Eriksen=========Lamela========N'Jie
=======Dier==========Alli
Which could potentially work but realistically you'd want Son playing RW running at players and an in-form Kane.
I've never been a big fan of Chadli. Yes he has shown a knack of getting goals, which is obviously a good quality. But he adds very little else to the effectiveness of the team when he's not scoring. He just never seems to show the type of grit and determination that others do (including Lamela). I would certainly drop him to the bench and hopefully this will provoke a positive reaction from him

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's our best alternative, Son will get easily marked out the game in the league.
I agree with giving Chadli a go up front, he's a presence and can finish, no harm if needs must
Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Chadli not play up front when Kane came off injured in the game against Stoke? We were all at sea that second half and he made no impact whatsoever up front, if there's where he was playing (was dodging on a very pixellated stream at the time with no commentary so I could be wrong!)
He never really seems to get involved. Hardly notice him most matches. I am sure when some of the injured players come back, his place will be in jeopardy.
I think Chadli up front is always an option because of his finishing but ideally we would have wanted another striker.
Completely unrelated to the OP; Does anyone know how to go about getting a job at WHL as a matchday steward? I was trying to look into it for my younger brother, find him a part-time job on the weekends but there's nothing on the Spurs website.
I do think we could do with giving Chadli bit of rest, during this next game and maybe some Ropey ones.
However, he seems to be integral part of MoPo's plans.
Don't forget Chadli had personal problems to deal with not so long ago, and actually maybe just riding out a storm.
He does know where the goal is though
He is not doing enough offensively for me, though he is useful contributing at defending set pieces with his height and adds some physicality to the team, he is quite a unit.
He should earn his place like the rest of them, and there are plenty of options in the squad to change things around.
It's his lack of pace that's an issue for me ... he doesn't fit into the high-press/counter-attacking mould at the moment.
As someone pointed out, he's had some personal problems so a bit of bench time/less pressure might be welcome for him.
He's our best alternative, Son will get easily marked out the game in the league.
And you base this on what exactly?
Henge, don't see how you come to the conclusion that Chadli is our best option replacing Kane. He was woeful against Stoke and is definetly not a striker in any sense.
I agree with most on here that his lack of pace is what frustrates me. We are trying to play a certain style under poch and I'm not sure if Chadli fits the system.
Easy he's the only one who physically could lead the line.
Son while may be able to do so against lesser teams in the Europa gets pushed of the ball a lot and is better at running at defences.
That stoke game he played there for 20mins and we was already under the cosh by Stoke and the defence was the reasons we didn't win not Chadli.
Chadli has played striker a few times for us as a two and played very well

so small frame players cannot lead the line?
ian wright?
berahino?
loads of small players… you just have to play to their strengths…. little balls in behind, rather than balls into them chest high asking them to hold up.
Both of them a far stronger than Son looks.
And I don't like berahino up top either
michael owen? no one is gonna try and tell me that owen was strong.
Messi is small
Think your reasoning is totally flawed, Delaney & Hangeland were extremely physical yesterday & yet Son did okay against them.
Amazing how you have arrived at these conclusions having only seen Son play for roughly 140 minutes, you obviously have far superior footballing awareness to the rest of us!
