It's a myth chronic that you need a big player up top. So many small players down the years have played the lone striker brilliantly.

Messi plays in a weak league and plays behind a striker

Owen played alongside other strikers Heskey for one.

Son got pushed of the ball loads in the last two games and his game is based on running at defenders.

Also yesterday he didn't play striker he played behind Kane

GG take it you never watch any other league so only can assess players once arrive in the prem.

Obviously smaller players can lead the line but as chronic says you have to change your game plan / tactics for it. We won't do that we will play the same way hence why Chadli is the best alternative to Kane for league games.

With Eriksen returning Chadli will most likely be dropped anyway.

Small strikers like Owen in the 90s and 00s played with strike partners. There are very few small players who can play up front on their own. You mention Berahino but West Brom play with two upfront and for England u21 he played alongside Kane. You have to have special ability if you're small. Even Aguero is struggling this season without a partner

Chadli will come good just like Kane will. Patience is needed.

Very presumptious of you CH

So far this year I have seen LIVE......................2 MLS, 2 La Liga & 1 Serie A.

When I say live, I mean actually at the games

It always annoys me that even when we have shown genuine signs of improvement, someone wants to be negative

On the contrary it was you that was very presumptious assuming ive only seen Son for 140 mins

Also where have I been negative? I said Chadli is our best alternative to Kane. It was others that bought Son into the conversation.

You've been to all them games when I'm old like you I'll potter around watching games too.

Personally only been to 2 Spurs games ( yes the team we support ) and most of all the Mk Dons games

This was in reference to how will fit in at Spurs, Palace were physical & he dealt with it.

He was a success at both Hamburg & Bayer Leverkusen.

Very condescending comments from you, pottering around is not something I do. Life does not end when you get into your 60's, you just know much better how to live it!

Yes on the wing where I said he's best at running at defenders.

Dier was a CB, yet turns out he is a pretty good DM too.............................................so my argument is that if necessary he could lead the line. However it is more likely that N'Jie will fill that role. In these modern times, lots of positions are interchangeable & even when Kane led the line did not stay rigidly to the middle did he?

I agree that Son at present is best on the wing & long may it continue!

GG

Let's get this straight I never said he can't lead the line but Chadli is our best alternative to Kane for league games.

this doesn't mean others cannot do a job if needed

I think one positive we can take from this is that Chadli used to be a shoe in for his place. Now we have so many options to play in the attacking three that if you don't perform then someone will take your place.

Its a fantastic headache for Poch and his staff.

Nothing wrong with pottering around , just ask Sizz

That's still too fast for sizzle, he'd more a sitting around type

Or going on strike! However how would we know the difference between him doing something & being on strike??

IMO Chadli has been extremely lucky of late to be in the side at all.

He chips in with the odd goal and seems to totally blind people to the fact taht out of every 90 minutes he plays he is anonymous for 85 of them.

He is never a major threat to the opposing full back and he very rarely gives our full back behind him any protection at all. As those are his two primary tasks surely that says it all.

Lamela gets slaughtered on here (normally rightfully so btw) but at least he puts in a shift which is more than can be said for Chadli. Yes he has the occasional great game but IMO they are very occasional and for the majority of the time he is a passenger.

As for playing the lone striker, yes he has the physique for sure he even has the ability but IMO there is no way he works anywhere near hard enough to worry a premier defence it would be like a day off for them.
