Pleasing performance I felt.
Positives:
-Tempo was a lot quicker.
-Cyrus the Virus looked the player he was when he first signed. It appears his confidence is back after his goal for ROI. Granted he wasnt troubled defensively really, but still managed to give me one heart stopping moment when he should have cleared the ball into the Westfield and instead tried being clever with it.
-Keogh, excellent once again.
-Johnson looks a very good player. Composed, strong and played some good passes. Rarely loses possesion.
-We pressed a lot better as a team, rather than standing off players as we have tended to do when not in possession.
Negatives:
-Final ball and delivery was shocking all night.
-Martin was too isolated. Need to get players around him in the box.
-Defensive substitutions. Last night was the ideal opportunity for Clement to show off the size of his man balls. Why bring Hanson on with 10 minutes to go? Push for a win! bring on another striker or push Weimann up front.
-I want to see Weimann up front next to Martin.
-Butterfield seems a bit anxious to get a goal. Needs to relax and compose himself instead.
Cyrus was better because he had the hardworking Johnny Russell helping him on the right.
Cyrus went poor last season when he had a new bloke in front of him who doesn't like to chase back and tackle.
Ah, blame the winger for Christie's lack of form. Classic.
The winger's job is to score and create goals, not bail his right back out of defensive situations.
If you expect the defender to support the attacking player then the attacking player should support the defender. It's called team work.
All depends what we want from our wingers doesn't it.
Ben Davies always helped out the full backs but was crap going forward.
Pays your money, takes your choice.
Nice summary Moj
Of which Ince does. he isnt a brilliant defender but he tracks and gets behind the ball.
Are we expecting him to mark Christie's man for him?
Milf has nailed it there.

Ben Davies was a set piece specialist though Milf...
Alegedly...
Agreed about the partnership on the right, with Butters helping out as well.
Reminded of me a bit of Brayford and that other bloke

Yeah, in the same way as I'm a lovemaking specialist
I'm still in the optimistic camp after last night's performance.
Keogh and Shackell is shaping up to be a fantastic partnership. The midfield has the potential to be just as good. Johnson looks quality and has the robustness we've been missing. Butterfield has not yet settled but I'm sure he will - his shooting boots need some adjustment but at least he's prepared to have a go from outside the box. Thorne looks fit and we all know what a fit Thorne can do.
Russell is in a form purple patch, long may it continue. Weimann looked poor in comparison, lots of running and industry but no final product. I expected more from him. It was his first full 90 mins in a while so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Lots of criticism about our lack of creativity but I do think we have to give Burnley credit for an excellent defensive performance. They always seemed to get a body in the way at the crucial moment.
Win at MK on Saturday, extend our unbroken run and we'll rise up the table on a wave of confidence!

I agree in general terms that we are coming together.
I would add that we just need the midfield to be prepared to get past Martin to create the scoring options and we need to identify that person playing behind Martin.
Weimann was too desperate to please and it showed ( I understand that and I am not going to be over critical of him)
On another day we would have routed a few teams.
Burnley are a decent side and were defensively strong.
Thanks for all the input lads agree about christie/russell
I'm in your camp too, Larry
There were a couple of occasions where I wished Bradders would have a shot and he decided to pass and vice versa with Butters.
Just a case of settling in, getting used to each other and making the right decisions and they'll be a superb midfield with GT.
Marco
Do you try to whip it in at pace but often find it gets flicked away all too easily at the edge of the box?
We look very solid, but too much sideways passing (hence the possession stats),and the continual cutting inside from the fullbacks are the major problems.Cyrus x1,and Forsyth (never) got to the byeline on only 1 occasion between them in the whole game, when we nearly scored.
Surely Bent deserved 20 minutes alongside the isolated Martin ?.Then with 5 minutes to go ,we substitute a defensive mid for Thorne.
We were at home for God's sake, that's the sort of thing Clough would have done !
We missed Lewandowski last night I thought.
Baz I'll Tell you what frustrated me last night was why did he bring Hendrick and Hanson on.? Why didn't he go for it with bent coming off the bench..... Why is bent even here???????
Think it frustrated us all Wassa . Think PC's 1st priority was not to lose. Fair enough, it's his job, there's a lot at stake - but it's not very exciting
Weiman was totally innefective. Had to give Bent a go
All I know is, Burnley were there for the taking last night. I didn't think they looked that good. I just think Derby were very negative especially with the substitutions
I called it a bore fest and still will, I want to be entertain for my £600 season ticket.....
