Our defenders are rubbish at dealing with crosses which is why they need to be stopped at source. This is why it puzzles me that we play with wing backs. It allows so much space on the flanks it's unreal.

Its because we have wing backs that there should be less space, anyone overlapping inside is sakhos responsibility, the wing backs only have to show people outside and stop crosses.

We should never have entered this game playing with wing backs, it gives them too much space in the middle and an easy cross when they get it wide.

Wrong. It gives wingers more space. Everybody knows that's the flaw with the wing back system.

But the wing backs are usually too far up the pitch. Especially if were being counter attacked

Alright. Start over again. Keep the tempo, keep pressing. Get Cout and sturridge into the game more

Gomez......

Last season can was targeted by centre forwards when we play this system. Lukaku has pulled onto Sakho more often than not. I wouldn't be surprised to see him target Can this half, especially as he is on a yellow.

i agree if we are being countered against, but usually only one attacks and we revert to a flat back 4,

otherwise they are not overburdened with defensive duties save stopping crosses.

we are awful 4 at the back, if we want to revert to it, brendan probably needs to go.

Oh yeah we have Gomez but it would be sending the wrong message taking Can off for him in my opinion

I would actually do that cos he's on a yellow. Move to 4 at the back, which is what we should be doing in the first place, and play a 4-4-2 diamond.
