In Poch’s eyes, Lamela is first name on the team sheet – even in front of Lloris

don't be so silly chicken ffs
The Tottenham Knowledge,
Yes of course he is.
That's why Lamela was dropped to the subs bench earlier this season whilst Lloris played.
Nonsense.

The last time you used the word "nonsense" to one of my comments was when i suggested Dembele was a striker at Fulham - and we all know how that turned out .
dembele wasnt a striker at Fulham though
Chronic,

he was a AM then a CM at Fulham chicken
Chronic is right
You were only half-right Chicken. Ace didn't think Dembele was ever a striker, that's the point. But he was at AZ
And chicken is also avoiding responding to the nonsense post he made regarding Poch having Lamela ahead of Lloris as 1st name on the team sheet!!

If 2 posters have separate opinions, how can 1 be right and the other half right?
Surely, either one is right and the other wrong - or both are half right?

At the rate Liverpool are losing players through injury, you should be able to beat them playing your catering staff.

Ace,
I'd like to point out that I said I don't remember Dembele playing as a striker Fulham, not that he didn't. Although apparently he didn't. I have virtually no knowledge of his career pre Fulham, which is where the striker thing comes from.
=======================
I always thought he was a No.10, but I think pretty much the same as with us, he never seems to play one role. Is this because no-one is sure what it is, or because he is so versatile?

I've read an interview with him and he basically said he grew up playing football on the street, the goals was a lamppost or something and you had to dribble round people to score or the like
I think that shows in his close game being so strong - holding players off, turning in tight situations, the quick bursts away from players - he is essentially the mate we all have who is sheet hot at 5-a-side football, but struggles with the 11 a side game
Play Dembele in the big games, don't play him against the rest
If totally agree with that Analog.
He is great at relieving a bit of pressure if you're up against it. Much like a good 9 does, he can just hold on to it for those few seconds more needed to get bodies closer to the ball.
It's when he has too much time on the ball he is a worry

Yep, and no CM we have apart from Bentaleb at his best is capable of it.
As we saw yesterday, Alli was completely blown away by Liverpool's pressing in the first 25 mins or so.
Mason and Dier do not have the skilset to evade pressure.
Therefore, this advantage of Dembele's, as well having a bit of versatility I suppose, means he should be kept.
Against teams that sit back, we all know he doesn't have the vision to break these teams down so don't bother playing him.
Get rid of him and our midfield looks quite workmanlike and - dare I say it - ordinary
Hard to see him being happy playing 10, maybe 12 games a season though.
Saying that we looked pretty solid with him advanced in the 433. West Brom away that sort of period last season.
