I havent bought the full game, but played the PES demo, and yeah i agree it has improved massively since i last played it a couple of years ago, but it still lacks realism for me, the shooting is so unrealistic it really puts me off playing it.
FIFA for me, is still miles ahead, even though it has sort of stagnated the past couple years.
I think they designed the shooting with the aim of making goals high scoring affairs. I think they have tried to balance realism with arcade game feel.
The thing that sold me was I thought to myself, if I had friends over for a few games, which one would we enjoy more - and for me its PES.
RedDevil what are the changes to Fifa from last year? apart from the obvious changes of players.
Identical thoughts to me, bought PES week before last I think, really pleased, also seems to be one of those games that the better you get and the more you put the difficulty up, the more fun it becomes

The main one for me is pace being nowhere near as OP as it has been previously, players like Bale, Messi and Ronaldo, whilst still very quick, dont get that distance between themselves and the chasing pack. Crossing is a little more difficult aswell ive found, also like the (PS4 R1 button and x) pass thing theyve put in the game, like a drilled pass, found it quite useful. Apart from that, there is slight changes you will only notice when you play the game..

Even from the demo it seems that the different teams like Bayern and Juventus have completely different styles of play. I got the impression that unlike FIFA - where you buy the best and fastest players on the market, in PES you actually need to evaluate your squad and bring in a player that suits your style. So you might not necessarily buy a big name but rather a lesser player that's a better fit. Or maybe I'm just going nuts.

I dont think this will be the case in 16, players like Mata for example ive found are alot more effective, where in past games players like him will get ignored.
All I've noticed in FIFA 16 is that they changed the game speed settings in the options and made Referee's spray some spray on the floor

Got both. Both pretty poor IMO. The interface of pes is really limited and the gameplay passing and movement are shocking. The skills with the analog stick are useless but the shooting and over the top through balls are a joy. The commentary, crowd interaction and general feel of the game though feels plastic and hollow. FIFA beats it at that but the passing is just a sham and the op pace of defenders is baffling. Both pretty poor and cab only dream of a new Francise release in the future developed by capable football brained designers.

In the past I would have turned my nose up at PES due to the licences etc. But now for me, it doesn't matter about the stadiums or crowds. Its all about fun factor and PES brings it in my opinion.
I'd rather lose in a 6-5 thriller in PES than lose 4-0 to some kid on ultimate team with five 95 pace players in their team.
I only play Career mode.
Anyone care to mention which one is better for this mode?
Don't need to play ultimate team kenny but it is still the best game mode of all the games. Pros static play and dodgy passing is enough to put me off but I have not played it with mates yet.
Lefty career mode in FIFA is probably better, I played master league on pes, finished my first season and bored already, similar games, lack of gameplay features, dodgy negotiation system(can't just bid for players) and not much else to write home about. Really disappointed me as although a FIFA player since 08, I'm a PES man at heart and have been waiting for the comeback!
Seeing the reviews I bought it this year and was so dissapointed. Fifas play is too serious and the gameplay is just scandalous at times. Pes is just sketchy and frantic
PES's is brilliant, however there are tweaks coming by the end of the month to smooth it just that little bit more
What's brilliant about it 1man? I'm always interested to see people's views
The Passing, the movement, the general feel, you can update the squads/emblems again...
Now I'm still kinda sucking a bit and need to learn the passing still, but very impressive stuff for me

PES 16 is a fantastic game, no 2 goals are the same and I'm loving the way you can find space with passing.
I would love to see PES get full licenses across all leagues.
I don't know Edward, obviously your opinion but a lot of the goals I've scored are similar
Nicka put it on highest level and see where you go from there , that's what I did and have had to vary my gameplay drastically
Game last night, James Rodriguez played a lovely through ball for Jackson Martinez (brilliant player).
The keeper game out to clear it, but the ball bobbled slightly... he missed the clearance and instead completely wiped out his own defender, who fell into Jackson knocking him over too. It was comedy gold.
Jackson fell onto the the ball knocking it into the path of Rodriguez who finished it off.
It was one of my favourite goals
Nick im failing to see how youve come up with the opinion you have. "Static play and dodgy passing" - not being funny but maybe you just arent very good. That description is the last way Id describe PES. If anything youve hit out at its strengths.
I scored a screamer last night , Erikesn chipped the ball into the Arsenal box and Kane unleashed a left footed jump volley, it hit the underside of the bar and went in.
