RDL sounded like he had a good game Nev!
I think you always want to progress to the next round, doesn't really hurt the first team how far we go as the 'reserves' played most of the match.
We still brought the 'big guns' on to try and close the game out so CR didn't totally discount the Cup.
Disappointed but bulk of the team didn't play so will be fresh for Saturday and we picked up no injuries.
Roll on waste Brom
I had a split second of disappointment just because we lost a game but i couldn't care less that we're out. I'm with you Nev, I'd be bothered if it was the FA cup 👍
If Hull draw Sheff Wed in the next round I'll bet that, secretly, some of you guys will be slightly gutted.
This was a great opportunity to get to Wembley with Arsenal and Chelsea going out last night.

I agree but that happens to many Clubs each year, we'll settle for a CL spot this season.
I'm not bothered, I can't make it to Wembley in Feb but May for the FA cup is a possibility so nope I'm glad we didn't get through 😂
Yes Nev - it does hurt. Always does when we lose. How any City fan can say they're not bothered beats me.??
Got to agree with heisenberg about Chelsea & the Gunners going out - we have missed a great opportunity to get to Wembley but hey-ho it's the Premier League that's most important. A draw at least needed against the Baggies.
I'm not bothered because we've won the league cup 3 times in recent history. I really don't care about a fourth one, would rather we won the fa cup and of course league survival is way more important.
Why would I be hurt over a (mostly) reserve side losing to a championship one in a game that carries no significance for our club. It's just a complete drain on fitness and I'm absolutely glad we are out of it.
Would anyone be bothered if it was the johnstones paint trophy?
And some of the city fans starting to kick off on Twitter and moaning at CR is frankly unbelievable.
Come on guys lets not pretend we're not bothered, had we got through last night I think reading this board this morning we'd of won the cup in our heads already. We've missed an opportunity here no doubt
While it isn't as glamorous as the FA cup it is still an entry in to the Europa league
and we all know what the prize for winning the EL is these days
But hey ho as I said before we're still fit and fresh ready for Saturday
I think the greater disappointment for me was some of the individual performances last night. In the West Ham match in the previous round, our reserves put in a very strong performance - the kind that keeps the first team on top of their game because they know that there are others ready and waiting behind them should their level slip. This time it's more a list of players that didn't perform:
Kramaric was very hit and miss.
Okazaki's name was hardly mentioned.
Inler was still doing the same things wrong: Taking too long on the ball and not getting goal-side of his man in midfield.
It took until Drinkwater, Vardy and Mahrez came on before we got any kind of goal threat, by which point Kramaric and Okazaki were off the field. Granted the Hull defence was strong, but this was a time when both should have been battling for a place in the first team and neither got even close to succeeding.
On the bright side, the defence sounded pretty decent and stood up to Hull's attacking pressure well; it was good in particular to hear Chilwell having a good game - at least according to the radio.

Wow a bit of a love fest going on here i put in one proviso most of us commenting have been to a cup final and see us win lets not forget those youngsters who havn't.
I was more annoyed as i was going to listen to the game on the RL player but it had the score written on the link so that blew that!
I'd be quite happy to win the competition a 4th time though.
While it's still a massive ask to win the competition, I want to see us winning everything - yep, even the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I remember some people saying that it would have been an embarrassment had we won it but I disagree - I think it would have been good to say that the one year we were in it, we won it while also winning the league and going straight back up - essentially sweeping the board.
That's not to say that I disagree with the team selection of course; I'd probably have done something very similar had I been in charge. But of course it's disappointing to some degree to go out of the competition.
Plus: Imagine for instance that our reserves had put in a good performance and gone through - we'd be delighted with the prospect of a further competitive match for those not in the first team to push for a place in the first 11 like Fuchs has done.
If you are playing 'rezzies' then how is it a drain on fitness?
Surely giving your 'rezzies' game time is a good thing?
Will you be playing rezzies in the FA Cup? Or will you be draining the fitness level of the 1st team or, even, worse, risking injury to key players?
"Will you be playing rezzies in the FA Cup?"
--------
Likely, yes. Although I hope we'll see at least a half-and-half selection, particularly if we continue to consolidate our league position in the interim. We've got some decent players in there who need games and opportunity to challenge for starting spots, but players like Dodoo shouldn't really be playing; he's scored some goals and he's living off them but he didn't look ready in the last round against West Ham and it sounded like he had a very similar game last night. Whenever I heard his name mentioned in commentary it was either him committing a foul or the ball ended up back in Hull's possession within 2 seconds. No more Schwarzer either.
now that you are out you can concentrate on getting to that magic 40 point mark
The most disappointing thing from last night is the level of performance from those who are meant to be fighting for a starting place in the league.
We are looking very short on goals up front. Not sure what we are going to do if Vardy picks up a knock or a suspension.
Kramaric had a chance last night to prove himself good enough but yet again was dragged after an hour. Get the feeling his time at the club may be getting shorter.
Inler is still miles away from the level we need in the league but fortunately Kante has been the real gem of an addition and fully expect him and Drinkwater to start on Saturday.
The league cup is always going to used for playing the reserves and for rotating squads. Mid week games always call for this particularly before an important league game at the weekend.
With regards to doing this in the FA cup. No I expect this to be taken much more seriously with fewer changes and fewer chances for youth players. This is because its a weekend fixture so give no reason to rest first team players.
Im gutted, especially with Arsenal and Chelsea going out. Big opportunity missed.
^ Yep that's the first achievement or the season, we agree on something 😂
I don’t really understand some of these comments. It hurts me when Leicester lose any game and I want us to win everything. It’s disappointing how many have bought into the “Premier League or nothing” era that is basically a self serving cash monopoly for the biggest clubs, which we have absolutely no chance of winning. I agree that our league status is more important and I agree that the FA Cup is bigger, but this is one of only two trophies we will ever win (without envisaging some seriously drastic change). It is also the only trophy that we have ever won. Somebody once said we are suffering from delusions of grandeur.
I agree that our league status is more important for our short and immediate term sustainability and I agree that an FA Cup win would be a greater achievement, but not bothered? Seriously? For me there are only ever different degrees of how bothered I am, but the day I’m no longer bothered when Leicester lose will be the day I stop watching football.

Absolutely spot on Joby. Incredible to think that there are so-called 'fans' who aren't bothered about a cup run, the chance of a day out at Wembley, winning a pot and qualifying for Europe.
Then again, if you don't actually attend any matches, you probably wouldn't understand what the fuss is about.
Don't attend matches fox 14?! I hope that comment wasn't aimed at me.
Where were you the night Steve Howard scored a last minute winner against Leeds United while we were battling for the league 1 title? I tell you where I was, the King Power stadium on a cold wet Tues night. Most of our new found fans were nowhere to be seen.
I was a season ticket holder for 10 years before I moved away. I've watched us under the Levein years, I've watched us under the Holloway relegation campaign and I never missed a match in league 1.
I was at 8 home games last season despite living 3 hours away.
If I hold an opinion that I don't care about winning a league cup for a fourth time when we are constantly laughed at for never having won an FA cup, then so what?
You and Joby can feck right off on your high horses - we're all equals here pal, even if our opinions differ
