Not too sure about Sturrage TBH.

I think sturridge looked good when he was on loan at Bolton last seaon and i don't know why we didn't push for himas part of the Torres deal!

I think people are underestimating just how big a part Sturridge will play in Chelseas season. He's been out with a 3 game suspension, he hasnt been looked over. Was our main bright spot in preseason as well.

It's all well and good you telling us how much AVB likes Sturridge but what the real question is, how much does he want Raul! You made a quite insulting bid (IMO) of £8 mill and Benayoun, who (whilst I liked when he played for us) would not take back as he thought the grass was greener and was proved wrong!

If AVB wants Raul enough then he'll do the deal, if not we'll keep Raul and you'll keep Sturridge!

I really dont see Raul as a priority. I doubt hes so important we'd give up our hungriest scorer. Anyway, we'll know by the end of the day wont we.

What i find a bit odd about this, from a Chelsea perspective, is the report was that they had given up their pursuit of Modric, and switched their attention to Meireles. I understood their interest in Modric was down to him being a playmaker that could create the sort of chances that Torres thrives (or used to thrive on).

Raul on the other hand is a box to box midfielder, with very good technical skills. Not the same sort of player.

Put sturrige in the deal. period! Take it or leave it.

Modric isnt a playmaker. He keeps the midfield moving/ticking. Something we definitely need. We are static all too often. A lot of the plays will go through Mata.

I have a feeling we'd go for Moutinho if Modric falls through.

I really wish people would give Meireles some respect. He is a much more important player than people are making out, to lose him and Aquilani would be seen as a major blow imo, even if it meant we got another striker.

Adam and Henderson are not as good as Meireles, he is our second best midfielder behind Gerrard, so we need him. Not for sale is what I'd say.
