And when they have to go to extreme ends of the spectrum to make a point.
We need a big powerful DM like Vieira or Keane. A player who can scare the opposition and protects our defense.

Both Keane and Vieira were box to box midfielders for the majority of their careers.
Vieira, for instance, had Petit and Gilberto beside him playing more restricted roles.
Coquelin is perfect for the role we have him in. The question mark should be whether his partner, Santi Cazorla, is the right sort of midfielder or should we have the Vieira like powerhouse alongside Coquelin.
Keane "strong" that alone kills your argument.

For now, we've got Cech one of the best keeper around. Yes, a DM would be good addition to the squad.
Agree with the OP, our defense could still improve a lot. We do get caught a lot when our fullbacks press up. Can blame Coq, best defensive player in the team.

We are an attacking team. Either we have our full backs pushing up helping with attack thus leaving counter attacking risks, or they sit back and we become a defensive team. Its one or the other
Yeah someone like Aguero would have killed us.
However, as for Costa

The OP made some really good points, but what do people do? They look for loop holes to attack.
Terrible!
It's more of people knowing we are a attacking team, so there will be chances for other teams, but our defence has improved a lot recently anyway so to pick holes in it on a day we won 3-0 is probably not the best decision.
Arsenal are now joint best side at conceding goals with Man Utd. Shame you put 3 past us

He came to a very wrong conclusion, that is the problem. He stated Vieira, a box to box midfielder, or Keane, again box to box, is what we need instead of Coquelin.
Coquelin is not the problem, he is very good at what he is in the team to do.
The issue is potentially Cazorla - where a box to box, powerful type like, well Vieira or Keane, could be better suited to certain games than a possession dependant midfielder like Cazorla.
To be honest despite Arsenal beating us 3-0 I think Arsenal got weaker this season overall. Papering over cracks most of this season imo.
