Yes happens to me too, the last game that did that to me was Infamous two, couldn't play it more than five mins

You can get used to games if you play them enough and only for short sessions, but the easiest way for me is to take some travel sickness tablets, not the greatest solution but they work for me.

On a side note this is one of my biggest concerns with VR, I may be looking forward to it's arrival, but if anyone is going to get sick using it, that person will be me.

Travel sickness tablets at the ready

Closing one eye is apparently a good solution.

Whilst you play the game. Apparently both eyes receive images at slightly different rates leading to montion sickness issues, so using one eye negates this. Don't hold me to this.

Turn off "head bobbing" helped with some people i know, but you cant in dying light, and in all honesty i dont think it will help, my other tip is stay away from mirrors edge.

Try medication as amiga says, again have had mixed results.

Other than that you could try painting a nose on your screen.......

It's quite likely the field of view that's giving you such problems. Some games run at relatively low FoVs (at around 75 degrees) and that can cause a tunnel vision effect whilst you're playing. Bumping it up to 90 degrees should solve that.

Unfortunately most console games don't allow you to change the FoV for some stupid reason, so you may just be screwed if you're playing it on the PS4.

Motion sickness is something that Sony have been focusing on with VR, it affects people in many different ways and although it is not going to help you with Dying light, Sony have found high framerate and refresh rate are critical in alleviating motion sickness in VR and have made sure Playstation VR can cope with both.

Although that goes a long way to solving the problem for most there are other more subtle reasons, the way you eye naturally focuses can also cause problems, which again Sony have took steps to accomodate in their display.

Simply moving is difficult in VR, sitting in a car driving makes sense to the brain, but walking without moving your legs can cause problems, I know there are some things that can be done to alleviate the problem and are proving quite effective (rigs uses the way your looking not the stick to target your enemy) so it is not an insurmountable task, but it is a complex one and it will be interesting to see how VR evolves to cope with it.

Bioshock infinite was the worse for me. Great game but couldn't finish it because it would make me feel sick/dizzy

Some people will be more susceptible than others to it. As said before, it's the FOV that is a big thing.

My friend gets it on all FPS games so he doesn't play them at all anymore.

So if you do find a cure let me know as I am sure he will appreciate it

Yeah Amiga motion sickness has been a problem with VR for a quite a bit but as far as Im aware they have fixed it..... cant remember the source i got it from but im sure they have developed a piece for your nose that stops it. I think its to do with the chemicals that sort your balance out when you cant see and hear.. ie your brain knows what the eyes and ears are doin but the nose messes things up apparantly ... or something like that. But yeah from what i heard a nose pice thing is supposed to fix motion sickness on VR. Anyone else aware of this ?

Yeah heard of that del boy, it's supposed to give you a reference point and like you said works (to a point) it isn't really a solution for VR as having something to focus on (even peripherally) in a game isn't the best solution.

The major thing in VR is framerate and refresh rate, both these have to be kept at certain levels and are mandated by Sony for any software that is created for PSVR.

That is enough for most, but solving it is a lot more complex than a peripheral nose, simply moving in VR can cause problems for some people, having said that as it stands PSVR has been very comfortable for users.

depends what the game is, but it would be very easy to induce nausea in VR (even in the hardiest of souls) if certain rules aren't followed.

For those interested this is the nose thing Delboy is on about, haven't seen it as an option in any of the PSVR games though.

Interesting video Hitler, I couldn't help but notice a hole in their research, one leg up and the other one down wasn't one of their recommendations
