Don't remind me LQ, I've got a ton of offshore people off this week whilst I have a deadline to keep.
Happy Diwali team, you gits
They better have given you some dried fruit!
LQ could you give a bit of background on Diwali? What it's about, why it's a holiday etc.
I deal with several companies with their support based in India, my usual contact is a guy called Lakshmi, does the name have relevance to Diwali as you've indicated above?
Your contact is named after an Indian goddess of wealth?
I grew up in Heaton Mersey which has a large sihk Indian Irish Muslim population "it's local nickname is little India" so I grew up around Diwali, eid Ramadan and so on.
Diwali as I understand it is the celebration of light over darkness when two people a man and a woman "can't remember their names" defeated an evil King.
It's a week long celebration of colour food and prosperity, my neighbours growing up had the best food and remember being fed to the point of passing out.
Oh and my wife's god mother is sihk and was telling us about it a couple of years ago after I mentioned it.
Any week long celebration involving Indian cuisine is a good thing in my eyes.
Couldn't agree more, Indian food is the best.
You'll make me get a madras in tonight and I've been good lately!

Happy Diwali. Just a quick bit of background: Sikhs celebrate Diwali for a completely different reason to the Hindus and usually refer to it as Bandi Chor Divas. However the principle of light and goodness is still the same. Many happy returns to anyone celebrating
I'm easy loz. Chicken. Lamb. Even king prawn if you're flush!
Chicken dish everytime, Lamb has a strange taste for me in a curry.
If i am making my own then fish is great, i don't mean Prawns but a nice piece of Cod or sea Bass.
I'm allergic to prawns so chicken or lamb for me.
