Striker set to return to training

Wolves can confirm that club officials have today met with striker Bright Enobakhare and he is expected to return to training this week.
The 17-year-old youngster had been absent for almost two weeks due to a family issue, but has remained in the local area.
Head Coach Kenny Jackett said earlier today that while Enobakhare had initially been granted a few days compassionate leave, the club had since been expecting him to return to Compton Park.
Officials have met with the striker this afternoon, and agreed that he will return to training.
Wolves now consider the matter to be closed, and ongoing support and discussion with Enobakhare will remain confidential.

As an aside I think KJ missed a real trick by not replacing Afobe with Holt for the last few minutes or so on Saturday. The Ipswich fans loathe him and were giving him some real verbal whilst he was warming up in the first half. Holt was having a great time with them, giving as good as he got and you just know that, given the chance, he would have bust his not inconsiderable gut and scored the winning goal.

Very very disappointed that KJ did not see that very real and obvious possibility to be honest.

Them tractor boys certainly didn't like him did they Vinnie. I know there is a lot of negativity about the Holt signing but I don't think he is a bad addition for a loan. He certainly gave Stearman a hard time last season.

I suspect he would make a good partner for Afobe or Le Fondre certainly for the last 20 minutes. I think that would work better than those pair playing together as they are both finishers who could feed off Holt and they have not really got the makings of a good pairing themselves

my thoughts also

never known a manager who signs players and then doesn't play them as much as jackett

Agreed with Vinnie. Sometimes these psychological things can be as effective as other methods.

DJ I liked the fact that Holt, rather than hide from the abuse, relished it. They were going mad at him and he was just laughing about it. There is no doubt in my mind that he would have caused some mischief if he came on. I would have bet on him scoring the winner and as I said, I am amazed KJ didnt think that too.

I think Holt is potentially a good signing. Wolves, as a team, are too nice. We havent got a player that puts himself about and "bullies" the opposition - Holt will do that.

its amazing that he wan't brought on for the latter stages of the game. The only reason he wouldn't have been is if we looked absoloutely nailed on to get a winner anyway. I wasn't there, was this the case?

Our equaliser came against the run of play really but if we had pushed on more after that who knows. I think overall a draw was probably a fair result but Ipswich did miss a couple of good chances earlier in the game

Nicks teams aren't easy to play against so a point away from Mol is fine with me

I blame the team as a whole and the manager. I don't feel the need to single out one player for what is a poor season - whether that player is in the team or not.

that makes it easier when the next messiah is picked and turns out to be a disappointment, as I don't have to do so many embarrassing u-turns.

Exactly.

Anyone who thinks there is a silver bullet that will cure all our woes this season really hasn't been paying attention.

The Messiah is NOT sitting on the bench being ignored by Jackett and our season isn't going to be turned around by dropping one player.

As DJ said our second equaliser was against the run of play. After that though, we did look the better team and I did think we were going to snatch the win. Agree that a draw was a fair result though.

Jordan Graham was the highlight for me - full of tricks, didnt waste much, can cross a ball and horror of horrors his corners looked fairly useful

nah we don't need to be a set-piece threat, kinda team

Kenny really struggled with substitutions in general for me, has been a theme since he arrived.

we need to see a settled side, wish he'd stop b'stard tinkering...give players a run of games see if they deliver.....half hour here and there and then dropped won't help

Have said this all season tino, Tis why I won't categorize Wallace as a bad signing when we simply don't know.

As for the left, never seen anything like it, I would have played Graham on day one or at least pre season before bringing in someone else's kid.

I know geez - we've discussed it countless times...it's not that hard no? pick your strongest XI..don't force players out of position - it's your own fault you have 20 centre-mids

It certainly sounds as if he did enough to warrant another start on Saturday. I look forward to seeing what he has to offer.

Agree with Tino that a settled team would help us for a while and after a half decent result at the weekend I see no need for any changes for the next game

From the starting line up, the one that ended the game or the one in between?

I'd go...

Henry McD Price Graham
Afobe
...........ALF

but I'd be ready to drag Afobe off and bring Edwards into a 4-2-3-1 if it wasn't working.

posted on 24/11/15

Would go with that and bring Byrne in and Henry to the ten if we changed it up.

posted on 24/11/15

If we are asking KJ not to tinker then lets not tinker. Henry, Kmac, Price and Graham have to be the midfield. Therefore, Afobe and Alf as the 9 & 10.

I still think Le Fondre has a lot more to offer us than we have yet seen. He certainly changed the game in our favour on Saturday.

posted on 24/11/15

As you were there Vinnie was it ALF @ 9 that made the difference in your opinion rather than Afobe @ 10?
Did Afobe do more behind ALF than Edwards did behind Afobe?

posted on 24/11/15

Really like ALF, a good loan signing and always carries a goal threat.

I think there is a massive tactical problem from playing McDonald and Price with two wingers and two strikers and we have seen this on numerous occasions already this season. Both those players like to play deep so in that formation there is a massive hole ahead of them in the middle of the park. And that's why we have seen us knocking long balls to the strikers, a game neither Afobe and Le Fondre are suited to. Also any opposing coach worth their salt would against that formation play 5 in midfield, occupying that hole in the middle and prevent us controlling the game. We might get away with it occasionally but wouldnt consistently.

Funny how often I see comments saying we should pick a settled team. And then how many suggested team selections are different from the week before. Seems to me that Jackett isn't the only one that likes to tinker with the team
