Drinking with a few blues today and we all agree pel knows he's going and as such is going through the motions.

I expect him gone by next Monday

The situation city find themselves in is

Do they bin Pellegrini and get Ancelotti in and miss out on Pep

Or do we stick with Ancelotti?

Or can we go and just pay Pep out of his Bayern contract?

City had more possession and shots than stoke Hafi so we should've won shouldn't we?
Isn't it amazing we were totally outplayed with those stats ?

We only had 1 shot on target to West Ham Utd 2 but really we should have scored 6 or 7. West Ham Utd could have scored 4.

Hafi, please fek off.

No one is in the least bit interested about your turgid style of football or your rancid club.

------------------------------

I had to work so I didn't see the game. I turned my phone off as I was recording it for later but I heard someone say "2-0" and curiosity got the better of me. The fact I feared the worst was totally justified.

I can't comment on what I didn't see as far as today went but the comments on the radio reflect those above.

So, we have a top young CB but we decided to loan him to Celtic and persevere with Demechils - A 34 year old in what is consdidered to be the fastest league in Europe.

The manager continues to pick Bony over Kelechi despite the youngster having a vastly superior goals-to-minutes ratio.

Questions also have to be asked about both our training methods and medical staff with so many players missing so many games through injury.

I'm 99.9% sure Pep will be our manager next season from what I've heard from some of my customers who are certainly a lot more ITK than I am. It seems like Groundhog Day (again) with players unsure of their futures letting it affect their performances as it did at the end of the Mancini era.

Pel is right when he says the team is picking itself because of injuries but ffs, give some of the younger players a chance - They couldn't be any worse than some of the established players have been in recent games.

An even worse performance than the Liverpool game. We had to win the midfield against Stoke which makes the selection a bit bizarre. Even more startling were the substitutions. Fernando was throwing himself on the floor more times than a professional wrestler, yet Fernandinho was subbed. Demichalis was just a piece of pitch furniture.

I am getting more and more frustrated with fat ass Raheem. I don't care if "he can improve". I don't care if he can't score. I just want him to stop losing the ball so cheaply.

I hope our performances don't get worse than this.

We play gladbach who've just battered bayern.

He'll blame the next defeat on the lighting of the stadium being too bright

I didn't think Sterling was that bad compared to some of them, Silva, both Ferns, Demichelis and Kolorov in particular.

The thing is, the way we are playing 4231, we'd actually be better defensively playing 442. Due to how high De Bruyne and Sterling are, as well as the gap between the two defensive midfielders and Silva, we have less bodies there than when we used to playing two strikers (particularly Nasri, who I also think we are missing in the new set up).

I know people don't like him because of his lack of defence, but we really do still miss Toure when he isn't playing. As he sits in the middle rather than as deep as his partner, it means the gap between the midfield and silva is a lot less, so we can break properly rather than the long punts in the second half. The control of tempo and switching of play was completely missing too.

It was just tactically stupid for me today. Two holding midfielders, then it should have been Delph and Fernandinho. Even just Delph instead of Silva would have worker. Playing Sterling, Silva and De Bruyne as well as having Bony up front altogether away against Stoke is just daft anyway, but to couple that with what was behind it was even more ridiculous.

The balance isn't right at the minute, we are losing the midfield time and time again. Sevilla worked because there was Navas as well as three midfielders so we still had pace on the break as well as controlling midfield.

Just rubbish today.

Melton k'off mate with Yaya he's utter tūrdd

4 - 3 - 3

Midfield trio of Delph, ferna, Silva. Allows de bruyne and sterling to drop in when defending and has a bit of mettle and bite in midfield.

Bony - needs to be shipped off and soon, he is garbage!!

Pellegrini has got to go and soon.

I don't remember the players being half as injured in Mancini's era. Players always seem to be breaking down.

Something seriously wrong with city at the minute

2-0 down and he didn't change anything,no shape change or any tactical response whatsoever. We went in at the break really fortunate to be only 2 down.
So with no changes at half time, certainly no visible change tactically either, what can have been the discussion in the changing room with a view to getting back into the games as "the same again lads" was what was the actual response.
Presumably they do a little bit of homework on the opposition,so they would know that stokes strength is passion and commitment so matching that commitment should be the first port of call. The very idea of fielding the 4 players Bony,Stirling,DeBruyne, silva who have no defensive ethos whatsoever in front of a midfield 2,one of whom is Fernando who has shown time and again he can't play in a 2,is at best extreme naivety
Why are we persisting playing a ridiculous high line which doesn't suit the players on the pitch,it must be a dream for the opposition coaches to see such a ridiculous tactic with such ponderous players playing it.
Horrific from Pellegrini and I don't know how his job can be anything but untenable

And yet we lose more with him missing than with anyone else...

He is rubbish when we don't have the ball. He still makes us tick when we do, and that is what we alwYs struggle to replicate when he is out.

And silva automatically makes it a 4231 rather than a 433 as we wouldn't want him (nor would he) that deep.

For me, only two of Silva, Sterling and De Bruyne should be on the pitch at a time unless we are overwhelming favourites and the opposition aren't trying to score at all. They are all too poor defensively.

Only way we could effectively play with Yaya is if he gets the free role with Delph and Fernandinho sat behind him on either side.
Navas gets a lot of stick but I'd much rather have him in the team away at places like Stoke than Stirling because he gives much more to the team

That's exactly what I want to see Paul and what worked well against Sevilla. In those games (and today's), I actually think only one of silva, sterling and de Bruyne should play.

Sterling was hopeless today, a slight upgrade on Navas.

He's having his natural game coached out of him for me.

Hart
Sagna Demichellis Otamendo Clichy ( all sat deep )
Fernandinho Delph
Yaya
navas DeBruyne silva

If we have no Aguero I'd rather start with that

Been busy watching grass grow at OT today. Great fun was had.

I'm sorry to say that Sterling's game is tired and predictable. More often than not, he will carry the ball close to the bye line then cut in on to his right foot; fails to see good options quickly, attracting more and more players to close him down. Loads of right backs know this, hence his losing the ball so cheaply.

Spot on, odd performance and lacking in passion as well as technique. Taking Fernandino off I really didn't get, the midfield just wasn't competitive at all .

Need Kompany back but the team need some serious work if they are to win the PL.
