Good article Squid...as most of yours are!
Lewis obviously has a lot of faith in Levy and believes he's done a good job as we as fans have hardly heard a word from him since he took over.
I'm sure to him it's just a business, and as such will amways want to see a return, but looking how we've come under Lewis and Levy says a lot about the stability and then progress that they've brought.
Doesn't Levy own about 30% of ERIC?
Doos I didn't think it was that much but you may well be right Eric
Adam I know for a fact he loves owning Spurs didn't want to say this but I have met him and had a very short chat with Mr Lewis ...oops now people wont believe me
The only problem with Joe Lewis is that I doubt he knows the difference between a football and a cricket ball. It is purely just one of his many business ventures. Daniel Levy runs the ship, and without him, I reckon Lewis would sell up. I doubt he even knows where WHL is, let alone attended a match.
Bunch of idiots; Joe Lewis is a goalie for Fulham.
Sandy you are so wrong about Lewis
Afew people on here know that myself and a friend went ti Nassau to see play Jamaica to open their new national stadium THIS WAS MAY 2013
About half an hour or so after the game finished mybuddie and I were walking round the ground and we near enough walked into Lewis , Levy and AVB ,They came over and thanked us for spending so much time and cash to support the team.............We asked Joe to sign our programmes but he said I don't do autographs but Daniel and Andre will be happy to .........I then asked him what it felt like to own Spurs , he laughed but did say how proud he was to have his team open his adopted countrys new stadium and he also said he does watch the games on the telly when he can
I am out of the office until Wednesday 9th December and will respond to your email on my return

this annoys me when I hear levy slated on the radio.. its like spurs fans don't even know that he isn't the top dog
I'm sure I read somewhere that Joe Lewis grew up as a Spurs supporter

We're a well run club with a good chairman
We've got a fantastic new training facilitie and a new stadium on the way.
I said from the off that poch needed at least 2 transfer windows to get the players he wanted in and out so he could have the team playing the way he wants(not his fecking philosophy
Yes we wasted some of the bale money but we've got a young side who will only get better.
Keep the faith
Hi everybody
Dodgey sream indeed
One thing that really pisses me off is the fact that the only place in the world well most that you cannot see every Prem gave live on the telly is the UK
Topper
Hes nearly 80 and I do wonder what will happen to us when he shuffles ogg
BTW
trying putting ....Pictures of Joe Lewis and his yacth
h its bloody massive
As a complete guess based on nothing...the controlling board of Lewis's business interests will maintain control and continue with current model.
Levy may increase stake too, both for control but also looking down the line if he/they does/do decide to sell. Which I imagine wouldn't be until long after the success of the NFL partnership was evident. That would open some serious American investment oportinities.
Adam clever
Considering Joe bought Spurs off of Sugar what 10/11/12 years ago ...bet he didn't pay a lot for us maybe 100m and Spurs are now valued at about 7 or 8oom , you hope whoever gets us will not kill the golden goose
I admit that a lot of guesswork went into the figures but Im sure they are not that far off

ENIC International Ltd (English National Investment Company) is a British investment company ultimately controlled and owned by Joseph Lewis (through Tavistock Group).
Focused on sports, media and investment, the group is chaired by Daniel Levy.
In 2003, Kondar Ltd was formed by ENIC's majority shareholders to take the company off the London stock market. A cash offer of £40 million made by Lewis and Levy took ENIC back into private hands, with Lewis and Levy controlling 71% and 29% respectively of shares in the investment company.
ENIC International presently holds 85% of the fully diluted share capital of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, which Levy chairs.
Joe Lewis rarely interferes in the running of Enic, this is left to Daniel Levy.
Chronic, as far as Spurs are concerned Levy is the top dog. He is also very close to Joe Lewis, who I understand is Godfather to one of Levy's children.
The only major time Lewis has intervened, to my knowledge, was re Harry's termination. Lewis is reported to have ordered it after two Directors told him Harry had been disrespectful towards Levy & the Board. Levy was at the time on bereavement leave.!

Thanks for a very informative comment , glad to see I wasn't to far out in my article....At 78 its not surprising he has taken a back seat
What I will say is that when I did meet him outside the national stadium he was a proud man to have his club open his new countrys stadium......BTW it was a 0 0 draw and one of the worse games I have ever seen
Well, I got an education today!
"Currency manipulations?"
I seem to remember when all that happened... bunch of royal crooks behind it all.
So Spurs is actually owned by someone who by rights ought to be behind bars if our society was "democratic"?
Is that the truth?
Ted
Its like playing the stock market but dealing in exchange rates rather than steel or orange juice well that's the way I understand it
As for Harry I always thought it was the England job that got him the bullet
Squid, First of all I'm a Spurs fan and I dont really care who owns the club.... just as long as the manager really does manage it.
Second, as trading systems go, the "average punter" never makes billions (with a "B". To do that you need an inside advantage of some kind.
Thirdly, the specific kind of currency manipulations that went on at that time are now illegal, or blocked from happening today.
And lastly, Spurs are not the oly team to be owned by someone of "dubious character". Think Chelsea for one example.
Also, Wayne Rooney's yacht, the last time I saw it in Monte Carlo, had two heliports on it!
Well Ted TBH you should care about who owns the club and second you have no idea what went on , yes could be very dirty or it could be totally clean and I doubt either of us will ever know
Well, yes ... but its not the first thing I look at.
But I do want to know that Pochettino make the decisions and Levy writes the checks.
But, those currency trading schemes that went on, and shook the system to the extent that governments intervened, are nowadays illegal. Recently for example, the Libor manipulators got shoved in jail.
Hi guys
Interesting article. I've always wondered what could have been if Lewis was such a fanatic Spurs fan and invested say £200m+ of his own money in an attempt like Man City or Chelsea to challenge for the PL etc.
Of course that would make us open to the charge of being labelled a sugar daddy club which I would be unhappy with as I think it's right to be self sustaining financially but I've often wondered what may have been if Lewis had been so inclined.
