I heard that too, I think it's true
He was an unconscionable scallywag bent upon making a buck at anybody and everybody's expense. What he was doing was not illegal, but it was unethical and is now illegal. Similar examples crop up all the time, as I mentioned the Libor scandal is the latest.
Abramovic is another example of bribery and corruption when the Soviet Communist system disbanded and government assets were sold off at pennies on the dollar.
Wayne Rooney earns his yacht. I would hold that Lewis did not earn his.
I read somewhere that Abramovich decided while flying over Tottenham that he didn't like the look of the area and declined to make an offer for us.
Guess we'll never know how it all really went down.
Yeah
You hear so many versions who really knows
On the other topic, I would assume Levy asks Lewis for a contribution when needed, and gets it.
Ted
Im pretty sure the club makes a profit every year due to great dealings in the transfer windows , I think Joe is happy to see his club shoot up in value every year so any profit goes into buying players to push the club up the table at no cost to himself
The club gets better , the fans are loving it and Joe is seeing his investment grow and grow as time passes
Currency speculation is legal. Not moral (for some) , but not illegal.
Uncle Joe took a big risk on Black Wednesday (allegedly more so than Soros) , but that is not artificial manipulation like the Libor scandal.
And nothing like the nastiness that saw the rise of Roman and the oligarskys after the collapse of the USSR.
Joe Lewis, another fraud capitalist, made money out of many people misery.
"Joe Lewis, another fraud capitalist"
Currency speculation is not fraud. <potential libel>
"made money out of many people misery"
Caused people misery as a result of his actions (their degree of misery prior to then is debatable) .
