the younger fans will always have Keane above him in their best United teams.
As good a player Keane was, I think Robbo was better.
I only vaguely remember Robson, and not really at his peak, but he had more to his game than Keane, from what I understand. He scored goals that Keane was never likely to and was more attacking in general.
Robson was the player everyone wanted to be like when I was very young at school. The first time I ever went to Old Trafford, Robson was brought off when the game was won and I just couldn't understand why.
Where is he? We also need a Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Ronaldo and even Carrick in his prime in his team.
Players of this calibre don't grow on trees.
Shame we didn't get Alli.
Robbo was Keane plus goals and minus the dirty streak.
Agree Busby and we should have been on his trail after MK Dons destroyed us.
Robbo I think has overcome his health problems and is an ambassador at the cub I think.
Clockwork a lot of younger fans don't remember Keane in his early days at Forest and United. He was up and down the pitch all game. What an incredible engine and scored goals. Proper b2b like Robbo. Both had a nasty edge and fierce tacklers, both great leaders though Robbo more by example. Both demanded the best from their team mates. Difference being Keano had the best alongside him. Both good in the air, Robbo actually great in the air and had the better shot. Keane went on to become the rock at the base of our midfield that played the easy balls and kept it simple, a big change to his earlier days.
Overall I still am not sure really who I would say was better, I have them equal. Perhaps Robbo as he didn't have the great players Keano had around him.

I think some people overlook Keane's attacking ability. In his early years and before the knee injury he did get forwards quite a bit and was a threat in the box
Keane was good. But Robson was a better player in every way.

Keane was good. But Robson was a better player in every way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keane was a colossus of a player. Robbo often had to try and do it on his own.
I would argue Keano was the better team player. Both great tacklers. Robbo better header of the ball and better shooting. Both incredible players.
People do have short memories and start to downgrade how good Keane was. He was consistently good, sometimes great and was a real commander on the pitch. Knew how to get his team up for the fight.
Keane must have been horrible to play against too, let's not forget that.
What we'd do for either of them today eh? Or even better, Paul Scholes.
Oh yes Busby , Keane and Scholes the perfect combination
I always thought Keane and Carrick would have made a great combo. Keane would kick his ass to be even better.
Hard to compare Robbo and Keane's performance as Keane played in much better sides. But then he did standout in those sides along better players so it's not as if he was lacking as a player.
It's a bit like the comparisons between Gerrard vs Lampard/Scholes.
Carrick although a great player for us over the years could and should have been even better. He isn't even slow as people suggest, he just never stretches his legs ! He also has a great shot which for some reason is
loathe to use. A real confidence player that perhaps doesn't totally believe in himself. I think SAF was the sort of man that recognised this and instilled belief in the lad hence his consistency. A very underrated player.
Yeah would be good seeing Keane bullying midfielders in big games rather than watching it happen to Carrick.
What I'd give to have had Keane in midfield in all these Manchester derbies where Toure has absolutely raped us. He'd never let that happen.
Carrick should go down as one of our midfield greats. Been with us in great sides and poor sides and almost always has been one of our best players. Even now when he's near the end we need him in the side.

Agree apart from the use of the word rape which isn't appropriate !

Pardew is my hero.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why's that ?
He's not really I just find him hilarious.
He is a confident man that's for sure. Some would say with a chip on his shoulder. He seems to have mellowed a bit at Palace too
As you can probably guess I'm a big Pardew fan. Reminds me of myself. Only he's not as arrogant.
