Callum Saunders haunts the Rovers, scores off a breakaway now 2-1 to Crewe. How things go bad quickly.
The defence needs special training, they are letting in too many at the moment with poor quality.
Ajai booked for a foul on Tyson. Stewart takes and scores GGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL
Now 2-2.
GGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Andy Williams steals the game for Rovers
3-2 , two goals in a minute.
ROVERS ROVERS ROVERS ROVERS ROVERS.
FDULL TIME
3-2.
God bless Fergie Time. ⚽️⚽️
This proves that YOU DO NOT leave before the end of the game.
94mins 14secs Goal GET IN!
What a fantastic win in the end, shows the spirit of the side now. I spoke to Bally after the game and said I wished the Board had made the decision at the beginning of the season.
He felt it didn't matter as it looks better to do what we are doing than running away with the League.
How does anyone else feel?
The very nature of the 3-5-2 makes us vulnerable but it's also exciting and seems to be winning more than losing
This was absolutely wonderful. It makes you realise how bad it was before and perhaps that makes one of the best, most exciting wins I can ever remember.
It had been a very busy somewhat difficult afternoon for me for non-football reasons, but I kept up with the match and was resigned to congratulate myself on identifying what was clearly turning out to be as tough a match as I predicted. We could not have begrudged Crewe the point or points because despite our pressure and performance on the ball, they were hitting the target more than we were until just before the goals. We had not added to our 4 on target and they had had 5.
The commentators got it right in recognising that we are better at attacking than defending, but no long-time Rovers supporter will be able to remember many matches where this has happened in our favour, yet so many times we have been the victims rather than the victors. How many times in our history have we scored 2 goals in successive minutes so close to the end to level and then win the game? It must be a club record.
What amazing character this shows, such determination to keep going and never-say-die spirit. It takes me right back to Rovers 4 Manchester City 3 in the 1950s.
What a day! What a boost to morale!
I am ecstatic about the win but do we need to work on the defence! Going forward we are great but defending far from that. Both goals came from near post crosses which we struggled to even get close to clearing! That said a fantastic never say die attitude instilled I'm sure by our fantastic manager and long may it continue! Great 3 points Burton away next sat big test!
Brilliant end to the game.
Somebody behind me said he was worried about losing the on-loan players, Only two were in the starting eleven, and yet the team was unrecognisable from the one at the end of the Dickov era. It is true that Grant is a class act, Stewart has the touch of magic and Adcock is a solid defender, but I trust the Fergomeister.
Donaldo, I did not know you were also old enough to remember the 4-3 against Man City! I had the programme (just a folded sheet in those days!) for many years in my programme collection. When we left England in 1974 on what I thought was a two year "posting" I gave the collection to my nephew. He is a season ticket holder, but I've no idea if he still has the programmes.
A wonderful result today. This never-say-die attitude they now have is a real breath of fresh air.
Look at what the Cherries are doing - just watched them beat Man U!
Strange game.
Opening 25 mins so much possession it was as if we were playing against 11 dustbins.
As BVZ said st HT we could have been winning or loosing.
The ref had an easy game as both teams played fairly.
Our front 2 did not have the best of games but conditions were atrocious.
26 mom for me.
The defence needs a lot of work.
Only caught the highlights , which might not be representative , but the defence issues looked to be mostly on the left hand side
Near post both sides look vulnerable
I mentioned the Everton game early on in the thread, how they, like us should have been home and hosed by half time.
They let Norwich back early in the second half and I thought we had done the same by letting Crewe get what they thought was the winner.
Little were any of us to know what would happen for those at the game and those listening to it. A fantastic win.
Watched the highlights about 20 times now. Amazing end to the game. People will be. talking about this game for years. What an ending. Still buzzing n laughing at all those who left when they scored.
Imagine walking out n you heard the fans cheering, thinking to yourself "bug ger". Then a minute later the sound of victory.......
Remember next time you want to go early, think about "FERGIE TIME".
Lightning can strike twice then, remember that JPT game when we won from 2-0 down with a last minute goal by Pricey, against, errrrm, Crewe.
Rovers fully deserved to win on Saturday but the manner of the victory was amazing to say the least.
Lol at all the "Rovers til we are losing" supporters who left when we went 2-1 down.
Lanza, i though Crewe employed the same niggling and spoiling tactics that we saw from Rochdale and it was justice that the ref added another minute to the three minutes of minimum add on time because of the time Crewe took to prepare to resume after their second goal, and the decision to waste time by bringing on another substitute.
Credit the ref for that but overall i thought he let Crewe get away with loads of stuff and their numbers 29 and 6 should have both been booked early on for continual foul play.
It was also justice that Stewarts goal came after yet another foul by 29 on Tyson.
Middleton continues to grow in confidence and he is fast becoming a clone of Wellens, he just needs a bit more of an edge to his game but he is becoming a fine player.
Copps was superb again in his new role.
Massive performances too from ATS, Evina and Grant.
I don't think there is a cat in you know where's place that Wellens will be back in January, free transfer to Oldham will free up money. I also think that Forrester is lined up to be away and DF said possibly a few more may go out, whether on loan or just out.
That I think includes McKenzie, Chaplow and maybe Main, again they would either free up wages or places.
We always go behind to Crewe. Everytime I've seen us against them we come from behind 😉
Mick McCarthy has told Cameron Stewart he is no longer wanted at Ipswich, he is a free agent if he can find a club. I think DF should be jumping in straight away to tie up a deal.
