So basically this Stokes slog fest which is being hailed as one of the greatest innings ever was done on one of the flattest tracks ever?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His innings was great but let's be honest the bowlers aren't exactly SA first choice minus Morkel. Would he have done that sort of innings if Steyn, Philander or even abbot was playing??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Baah...party poopers
No wickets in the morning session. That's why.
Terrible test match to be honest
I see some of the faithful on here aren't complaining about flat tracks and road pitches then? ohh yeah, course they wouldn't would they - apparently stokes innings was the best thing since sliced bread
Bit different doing it in the way he did it compared to this absolute snooze fest from South Africa.
Not watching today... Take it no cloud cover for Jimmy to exploit?
Wouldnt make a difference if you were watching with your lack of knowledge and general intelligence 👍🏽
Ok. Does that mean Jimmy isn't getting the assistance required?
He didn't get any assistance in the UAE yet still bagged plenty of wickets.
I don't care if you're McGrath, Warne or Ambrose, you're not getting wickets on this pitch.
whats your actual point or as usual do you not have one?
I'm just asking the question. No need to bring up the 2-0 UAE test series...
I'm trying to decide what is more boring...
Your banter or South Africa's batting...
After england scored over 600 runs did he really think SA would be trying to score at 4 runs per over?
Only 2 possible outcomes after day 2 -
-- Draw
-- England Win
Cracking stuff... First wicket in 30 overs. Man done good.

Agree. Saffers only doing what England did in UAE after conceding heavy first inning totals. You can't have it both ways.
Very negative from the supposed best team in the world. Throw in the fact they're 1-0 down in the series and so frightened to produce a deck with any assistance for fear over their own batting lineup.

Or due to the fact they are missing 3 Test bowlers, 2 of them being super world class bowlers with figures the england boys can only dream of.
Add to the fact the batters are all in some bad nick thanks to the Indians.
That was pretty poor from DeKock
Super world class? 😂😂😂
We miss our "super world class" bowler in the first game and don't cry about it yet still beat you by 250odd runs.
What's Philander going to do on this surface?
Steyn only bowled in the 1st innings and got 4 wickets and then broke down in the 2nd innings. No bowler got more than 5 in a innings. Not bad for someone who was half fit.
Oh and Philander averages something around 20 at this ground.
Philander Test Average - 21
Styen Test average -22
England 2 golden boys broad and anderson 29 each.
Everyone has already commented on how this isn't a usual Newlands pitch. Graeme Smith said he's never not seen it swing here. Philander is the same sort of bowler as Anderson only nowhere near as good. His up and down military medium would have gone further round the park than Morkel etc
Why is he nowhere near as good as Anderson despite blitizing his stats? If anything hes better than Anderson and with a swinging ball hes is lethal.
This pitch isnt as bad as every is making out, there have been plenty of dropped catches by both teams. England were 240-4 at one stage and SA could easily have been in the same situation.
This test is to get the batter back in some sort of form.
