I have yet to see it but doesn't sound great.

Well, there’s some cool moments in there. Really cool. But it’s more like the first Ep, which we’ve allowed as some sort of Prologue… so now, as a 7 Ep series, you’d think ok, we getting into the meat now.
I mean if I use the analogy of a 3 course meal… then I’d say this Ep is off the Starter menu.

So these are coming out on Wednesdays then?

posted on 12/1/22

Ya
Disney strategy is to not release on Fridays, at the same time as Cinema releases. As well as the one a week format, which makes sense, while others drop the whole the entire lot same day.

I'm insulted on your behalf.

That was easily the worst episode of the season. It felt like an episode of the power rangers and the speeder chase at the end was awful.

I am glad that they've moved on from the Tusken aspect of the story but this whole gang war feels very lacklustre so far. Oh and I was hugely disappointed by the black krrsantan in this episode.

Let's see how the next few episodes go but they need to move the story a long quicker and up the stakes because as of now, it feels very low scale and trivial. With this season being only 7 episodes long, the next 4 will have to be very good for me to be invested enough, to continue with season 2.

Right. I don’t know the Power Rangers ref, but yes, I have a gripe about that. It looked so out of place for tatooine.
They are poor, disenfranchised young adults, who happen to dress slick and have these bling Speeder Mopeds. It just looked off. Out of place. The chase was rubbish. RR needs to back off with his Spy Kid crap.
Having BK just run off, didn’t make sense to me, and it looked silly.
But I’m still of the mind that the Tusken story is the main story and not his rise to power. I did like the fight with BK, and the backstory with the Rancor.

Initially I was thinking Frenec will betray him. And it still looks that way, but now if that does come to pass, I will be annoyed cos she could’ve taken him out at any time.
How did BK break in and nobody notice a facking huge Wookie in the building?

I didn't like the fight because Boba took a clean punch from the wookie and he got up like it was nothing. I understand the show is about him but they are overdoing it with his abilities.

I know some people are not happy about Boba being a bit too neutered in this show but I think it's in line with his experiences. He barely survived the sarlacc and he was kept as a prisoner by the tuskens. He then managed to gain their respect and they created a bond that was built on respect. This isn't the same Boba from Empire and he's not the same as the one portrayed in the Mandalorian. The quicker people accept this, the better the show will be for them.

Hmm... think I need to watch again. Obviously there was a shock that he was suddenly there.
But I agree, Fav and RR and co are treading a fine line.
The slow build to his rise is weird, but that’s why I think it’s a distraction. Surely as a wannabe crime lord you have to set a standard so everyone knows what you’re about.
The first scene with the Water guy, told him as much, so it makes me think, Boba doesn’t really want it.
He’s known of this area for a long time, how does he think people are gonna respect him like this.
It comes off soft.
There’s a reason they only gave us a glimpse of this flashback. There’s more to it.

And another thing that I might be reading too much into. Frenec says to him at the table, he’s head of the ‘Family’?! What family?

Unless it’s to mean, Boba is gonna reunite with the remaining Tuskens, and become that little Raiders surrogate Dad...

This version of Boba seems very naive to many things that you wouldn't expect, from a seasoned bounty hunter. He is supposed to be highly intelligent yet he was outsmarted by the mayor and now the hutt twins reveal they are going back home because the territory belongs to the pikes.

Outside of Boba, the cursory characters are one dimensional and if they weren't there, I wouldn't feel any different about the show.

I think the show is missing an obvious and visibile antagonist. The Mandalorian had Moff Gideon and the Book of Boba needs someone like that.

posted on 13/1/22

Totally agree. You don’t think they’d kill off Boba do you?

posted on 13/1/22

Nope but I can see Fennick taking the throne by the end of the show. She's far more suited to actually being a crime lord and maybe Boba goes back to his bread and butter, which is bounty hunting.

I'm still bemused at how the Mandalorian had some great chase scenes but the book of bobas chase scene looks dreadfully amateurish.

Dammit, yeh just remembered, why in the flashbacks are we seeing a young Kamino Boba longing for his dad? I couldn’t tell what Raider that was dead.
But let’s say it’s the big man, then that also reinforces my thinking that, he’ll be reunited with the kid.

The kid is alive right?
Cos if he/she isn’t then, they have done a bad job telling us that. I think they want us to think that.
I think Bobas real deal is to help return the land to the Tuskens.

Well, the whole train scene in Ep 2, I thought was very well done. Then RR goes all spy kids on us, with characters we aren’t really bothered about.
And it was badly done.
Now if Boba had flown in and put a laser in that dudes head, that would’ve made up for it.
But Fennick isn’t killing anyone either…. Wait, have they actually killed anyone?

I think Fennick killed one guy in episode 1 and Boba blew another one up.

Boba needs to use that jetpack more often. What's he worried about, the environment?

I like the Kamino angle but I'd like to see more, instead of just seeing Boba looking out a window.

In regards to the Tuskens, everyone died except for the kid, the leader and the skilled warrior(who I suspect is a female)

posted on 13/1/22

She is female. She’s a stunt double by trade, and they offered her this role. They can’t of just killed her off.
If we think it’s the same biker dudes, Boba, with no armour, racked them all up in the bar by himself.

How did they get attacked like that.
But I guess we are only seeing it from Bobas perspective. And when you think about it, it was his plan, that has caused all this.
He should be feeling really shiiity about himself I’d say.

But the whole Kamino flashback has to have a connection to the Tusken story I think.
What is so meaningful to Boba when seeing Jango fly away. That wasn’t the last time he saw his dad.

Unless Netflix has signed Scott Frank to an exclusive, then he is one Director, I think would be perfect for this Boba 7 Ep format.
Scott Frank has made 2 brilliant Tv show/movies in a 7 Ep format. Absolutely killed it. Queens Gambit/Godless. And he did the screenplay for Logan. Let him co-write and direct. It would go up for awards.
