I find something confusing about the directors of episodes getting lauded as either amazing, dallas howard or crap, robert rodriguez, when the directors dont get to choose the story, if dallas howard got the episode robert had then it would have still been crap and likely the mando episode would have still be good if robert was doing it.. or am i missing something?

Ok sure, maybe a little heat of the moment, but let’s say I’m more disappointed in Robert. But sure, he isn’t crap.
He did that great Episode with the Boba Fett reveal in Mando season 2.
But it’s like supporting your team. They win, you give the manager he plaudits. They lose/don’t perform, you blast the manager.
That chase sequence was shot terribly though. And so his Spy Kids background came back to haunt him.

With Bryce, she’s showing that, (i think it’s 3 or 4Eps she’s done overall now, and all have been above average to Stella) she’s got her Dads talent for directing as well as acting, and I think people are just praising her work.
But you do make a fair point.
If she was given Roberts Eps, they would be similar but different, cos of the choices they would’ve made, but may of still been below par, who knows.

Let’s hope Robert knock it out the park.
However I might be wrong here, cos with 2 Eps left, I’m sure it’s Filoni and Faverau directing…. ?!
Well, all will be revealed.

The guy has been in everything, from when he was about 5 yrs old.
I think when he was about 8 he played the main villain in a Star Trek Ep facing off with Shatner!!!
And easily one of the most recognisable character actors.

You're missing the bit where directors have to set the scenes and make the script come to life. The script will say Mando speaks to Ahsoka but the director has to make that conversation look good and more importantly sound good. That's a skill. So Rodriguez and Howard could be given the exact same script but how their episode looks and feels will be unique to their perspectives and skills.

It's not a set story. I'd imagine there are things the director can change and shift around.

Krrsantan should’ve (and definitely would’ve) killed all the gang members in that fight. Would’ve been far better. Also it’s annoying me they’re still around and will probably be involved as part of the ‘muscle’ needed in the next episodes.

I felt the director of the last episode was a genius. Ok, its about Boba Fett guys.........nah, feck that, I am doing a Mando episode.

not sure if this was discussed, but mando mentioned going to see grogu before he'd help boba, so does that mean hes not returning this season, or we are getting another mando episode?

I think he will go see Grogu off screen and we see that meeting in Mando season 3. I don't think they can give Mando another dedicated episode without ruining the show, as there are only 2 episodes left.

Guess he’s a big Star Wars fan as well, I would never have had him down for that role.
Guest director, sure. But that’s a lot of power.

I wonder how they will handle all the, ‘this was the best Ep, and Boba wasn’t there’?
Surely must rankle them a bit. After the amazing entrance of Boba on Mando, they got to do him right.

Cos as much as people like the shiny new toy that is Mando, and he is a great character.
Boba will always still be the original badass.

So that sets up a dramatic late to the party entrance in Ep 7.
So like how Mando and Fennec we’re trapped by the troopers and then Boba flew in.
Maybe something like that, with Grogu behind him using the force.

They have to set up the bad guys, cos, I don’t know how big the threat is.

The fact that we still don't know who the main villain is quite telling. 2 more episodes left, so I can't imagine it's someone that will be memorable.

I don’t want to see generic bad guys getting killed off and then see a post credit of someone....
Disney can do whatever they like, so I think they will press ahead with a season 2, regardless.

In hindsight, I don't think the Mando episode is the best one.. I think episode 4 was,

Poor Boba. Here he is, with his own show. Just wanting to entertain. Gets a bit of backlash for being boring/slow. People saying ‘Not My Boba’. Then Mando comes along and steals the limelight. And now it’s possible he could be a Racist.

He should’ve just stayed in the Sarlaac Pit.
