yeah fair do's with OB1, I get the occasional outburst, but he literally has a go at her every time she opens her mouth.
Na I aint buying the fire scene at all, thats just lazy saying he was arrogant, Vader doesnt suffer arrogance from anyone. they could have did it so nthe chick caused a blast that threw them all back but she literally just recreated the same scenario Vader did and he just watched OB1 get rescued. he just flew half way across the galaxy to get him! i think its extremely lazy wiring all in order to get that through the fire dramatic shot.
I hate the bickering ... they are acting like literal 12 year olds with mild super powers I dont think any of that would be tolerated in the slightest within their training and also whilst serving. were not talking about randomly plucked out individuals on a power trip here but highly trained servants of Vader essentially.
each to their own just my views.
I do think however the outpost toll thing was some good trolling (destroying the barrier when they could just go round it) so let that slide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, perhaps I'm just creating a narrative to fit the fire scene. Or perhaps I'm forgiving it because the dramatic shot through the flames was pretty damn good! But ultimately you're right, there were better ways to get to the end credits and get OB1 out.
Inquisitors, I get your point. But I think SW has always had people from the dark side vying for position and wanting more power. From Vader asking Luke to help him overthrow the Emporer, Anakin originally and then Kylo and Hux. I kind of view sith (or dark side force users) as greedy for power and the bickering a manifestation of that. What I will say is that it's not exactly subtle with the inquisitors

I still enjoyed 2 of the 3 episodes to be fair. 6/10 is above average IMO. compared to your average tv show its slightly better, compared to something like Mandalorian its not in its league. If Madalorian is a solid 8-9 / 10 then this is a 6-7/10 at best. Its ok slightly better than average.

My responses:
OB1s impatience. He's been living a mundane and monotonous life for 10 years and now suddenly he has to go off world and rescue a sassy and brash 10 year old girl and he's just found out his former apprentice and the reason the jedi were hunted and killed, is still alive. I think it's reasonable to expect him to be a little impatient.
Vader could have done several things but he's toying with Obi Wan. I think there might also be some conflict in Vader himself. His hate for Obi Wan has been brewing and finally he sees this pathetic version of the man who defeated him. I think Vader looked across at Obi Wan being saved by the droid and felt disappointed. Plus he knows Obi Wan can't escape. So no rush.
Roads in the desert? That is a nitpick but I would point to the empire being in control. They like order and putting in roads may have been a way to get the planet to change to their way of doing things.
Outpost scene was fine for me.
Continuity issues. This is my biggest concern about this show. Too much Leia for my liking.
Inquisitors. I see no issue with them battling each other on a political level. Why wouldn't they? The position of Grand Inquisitor puts you in a great position within the empire and you'd be closer to Vader, who is essentially the boss man.
The entire reason that the rule of 2 was established was because the sith kept killing each other for more power. This is the darksides nature. It always wants more.

Time for them to jump back to the old Republic, show us the 1st mandalorian war, show the more casual fans WHY mandalorians are so feared. Show them the rebirth of the sith following the Jedi civil war. Introduce revan and Malek before the remake of KOTOR is released

It’s Star Wars mate, scrutiny is always going to be next level.
So far it’s as I expected it to be, an overall 6/10 with some really exciting moments that stop it from being a 3/10.
Someone summed it up well for me a few pages ago saying that if it weren’t Star Wars, we’d all be massively criticising the show (this point for me stands with all of the recent shows and the three filths they made in recent years)
I think fans should definitely be critical of the products that these studios put out. The casual movie goer will accept whatever they are given, which is why studios will make poor movies like BVS, because they know they can bleed the casual dry. The sequels are a perfect example too.
Fans being critical helps the people creating these products to stay humble and most importantly, to actually take the franchise and stories seriously. There is a reason Dave Filonis Clone Wars done so well. He knows the material and characters and he respects the fans and the franchise itself.
Most of the criticisms of the show thus far have been valid in my opinion and they've been surrounding basic requirements in any movie/tv shows.
Also, if this wasn't Star Wars, I definitely wouldn't care as much but that's the case with anything in life. If I'm not concerned about physical health, I'm not going have any interest in the nutrional info on food.
Ooh, some great points made, either side of this debate. Yes, cos it is Star Wars, I do hold it to a different standard. Whilst I expect the very best in Story, Visuals, Music, I recognise, I do let it get away with things.
I struggled hard with Force Awakens and is the example of letting them off. If I had to do it again, the moment Solo died, I would’ve walked out.
And well, the sequels just truly knocked the stuffing out of me. That angers me, makes me sad thinking about it.
The TV game, is a whole new world. But, gone are the days where we have to accept a lower standard to films.
I see quality like, Queens Gambit and Godless.
And only Mando has reached those heights.
Being honest, I am dissatisfied with the level of execution. They should be filming the hell out of this.
And it feels they have compromised there.
I know stuff like this happens, but why is Ewan Executive Producer?
Anyway, After Ep 3, I do feel better about the show, and hopefully they smash the next 3 eps.

I feel this could be the problem with being woke and having feelings - I get the impression that you cant criticise anyone's work, and this ends with KK who seems super feminist. And people just not getting Star Wars or not being fans.
It’s a weird one, cos Mando is more Boba Fett than Boba Fett. Although we saw, the Ep when Boba came back was brilliant. But that was it. They have tarnished his legacy.
They teased a potentially great show, into the underworld. Or so we thought.
It’s amazing they are not in a rush to get any Movies out, cos it was all about recouping that 4billion spent, and they did that with the Movies alone.
But they know they’ve messed up, and the fanbase have voted with their feet by not going. So build the trust back up on TV and then they will come, is the thinking?
Really, who here would rush out for the next Star Wars movie? I’d be sceptical.
Squadrons, doesn’t excite me. And after seeing Top Gun 2, it has to be bloody epic to beat that.
KK also is just a business person who isn't really that bothered with the franchise, just ticking boxes for Disney
It's nothing to do with "wokeism"
Mandalorian is the best show because we as fans are unencumbered by expectations and beliefs on what the character should be saying/doing.
It's (until now) been very easy to build the character without affecting canon, without touching major characters. I expect the Ashoka show to be more similar in that regard
People like Boba come with preconceived notions of how he will act, and try as they might to build a storyline for why he's not as brutish as his reputation, (the sand raider arc, learning patience and hardship) and we all want to also ignore his age (generally folks do mellow and seek to settle down.. he's only human afterall).. the fact is when he Slave-1d those bikers that's the action we wanted!! That's how we believe he should act, with Mando we had none of that, which is why I want them to change to a different time period..
I do also think KK is awful, she presided over the mess of a sequel trilogy, killed off the star wars stories series of films due to fan backlash over TLJ rather than accept where the blame lay.. reportedly rejected the first BoBF script for being too brutal.
She can get facked.. someone like Feige should be in charge. He clearly gets star wars.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So many similarities to Man Utd. It was Lucas trying to get one over on Disney by appointing her, cos people are sure Bob Iger would’ve gone with someone else.
But 10 years in the role already, and she looks as safe as she’s ever been.
She leaves when she decides too. Disney can’t deal with the backlash of firing KK. Especially from a business point cos she has made them money.
To be honest though, I give KK 5 years max before she’s gone. I’m hoping it’s next year when Indiana Jones 5 comes out. If that is a flop, critically, she’s gotta go. I’m sure it will make money… but when your Movies are getting panned, especially the Franchises she has control of, you need to move.
Nah I am sorry my friend but wokeness is huge in Disney and causes many issues - as you said Mando can skirt it cos there is no expectations, the others we know more of the history so for fans can be more glaring when something isn't right or is changed to be able to tick a certain box, which then leads to bad choices because they are required to shoe horn in something that wouldn't have been considered 10 years ago
I think it's largely just poor writing and storytelling, from people that have no interest in the actual material. KK has refused to acknowledge the books and comics as source material and this ignorance and dogmatic approach coming from the top is never going to produce consistently good content.

KK also is just a business person who isn't really that bothered with the franchise, just ticking boxes for Disney

What wokeism can you point to?
