After seeing Cech in action for past 4 months, you are right. He is a big character in the team, even if he wasn't playing for Chelsea, he would still be one of the main guys.

Agreed the club discounted the fact his presence with his experience was an integral part of the once famous CFC spine.

Roman?

Roman just let him go because he gave everything to Chelsea and it was out of respect.

Yes Roman, but the same Roman forgot that without the spine and the authoritative figures in the dressing room we were fckd

Set in civil war , with background biblical fraternisation , some animal action, attempted suicide, an aria by Eva in the most glorious sunset and you would have an epic screenplay on your hands.
I would love you see how you would say no to Petr Cech after so many years of loyal service including a humiliating last season with out so much as a squeak of complaint.

Just how loose is he now?

Tway, i think you've missed the point.

i do not need a fckn lecture from you about Cechs service and the importance of treating him right.

The club decided to keep a goal keeper who may well be one day be the worlds best keeper, over a player who was in fact integral part of what was keeping CFC at the top due his presence on the pitch and and in the dressing room.

But clearly you are fckn clueless to this point and can only see what you see which is not the bigger picture con trey to your high held opinions.

Ability - no courtois is better
Dressing room presence I agree, but you can't keep 2 top goalkeepers happy .

In this case TIBO was the only choice

And we all know who sanctioned that little deal ?!?

Are you seriously pointing the finger at Roman for having the decency to let a long standing succesful player stay in London, play top flight for the sake of his family

Mons , sorry mate but wtf do you know ?

Cechs infleunce in the dressing room was part of the spine, loosing him finished what was the strength of the club.

Now by keeping the very excellent Courtois , yes we have a goal keeper who has more potential in the long run to Cech and is worth 30m , but today the loss of Cech broke the long standing spine which had kept the club at the top, which in turn led to this woeful bunch of fckn cretins to refuse to play for the manager and club and has brought us to this point where were at.

And once again who will replace JM ?

Mons you are not paying attention , i have explained the repercussions clearly of Romans decision.

Oh yeah in the long run do you feel we may loose Courtois if the club doesn't easily regain its top flight status & do feel that Cech would desert the club in the same situation ?

arsenal are having a good season we get it

i guess we do harbour some sort of loyalty

right decision all round

leg end,

What has happened at the club hasn't just erupted for no reason and because Jose suddenly has become crap.

Imo loosing Cech did finalise the demise of the spine which i feel is part of the disaster .

Keeping Courtois is understandable and common sense but loosing Cech has had serious repercussions .

Agree that cechs influence was probably a big one at the club even whilst not getting games last year. I imagine thats one of the reasons we could be seeing more of Didier too. Theres been a lack of grit and determination i feel in our Current team. Thats why bringing through younger players from the academy maybe the key to establishing more continuity and loyalty at cfc. i do think that loyalty and continuity will be a big issue for the club, especially in the wake of this years fiasco.

Most of you guys were screaming good riddance after the first game of the season shambles vs West Ham.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

On a serious note, have to agree with Ifarka, you guys have lost a lot of influence and mental strength with a few players leaving over the past few years, Drog, Lamps, Cech etc but its strange that this didn't have much of a negative impact last season, and with the league win, you'd have thought the mental strength would continue in this current crop of players

Wtf are you on? Most of us would never say good riddance. Fact isCech has been playing in London since 2005 and suddenly he's been discovered by Wenger and his disciples ie you tell us he's a top keeper. Just wow

Hasn't affected us....has affected the Goonz hugely...in that they've actually got a talented keeper

No...Begovic was a more than able deputy in TC's Injury absence...unless you think Cech was going to be solely responsible for sorting out our shat this term....because I'd doubt it

Czech was ALWAYS going to be a loss, people who were trying to brush it off at the start of the season were always kidding themselves.

Let's hope Courtois grows some balls and starts to up his game....
