My feeling is that no man has a divine right to anything, nor should a club the size of United be handing anyone the managerial job on a silver plate. If Giggs really wants the job I think he should have to earn it. That's something he currently is not doing. Moreover, by being part of two failed regimes, he could (maybe even) should be harming his own credentials.
I think he'll get the job sooner or later anyway, even though I think it's the wrong way to go about things
Howbis he getting screwed over? He doesn't deserve to be the manager, he hasn't done anything to deserve it. Swansea would be stupid to take him aswel. Start in the championship, look at Neville llooks like he is going to struggle with a high profile job. But that's nothing compared to the united job.
I think it's being a bit harsh to say Giggs is just being given the united managers job (whenever that happens) without earning it.
Earning it doesn't have to mean going to some relegation threatened club and managing there for 5 years. By that standard Mark Hughes has earned the United job.
You can earn things in other ways. I'm certain the club has had Giggs earmarked for this role for maybe as long as a decade. He's no doubt done his coaching badges, learnt all he can from everyone at United and in the game (you don't have to live in Barcelona to learn about that club for example).
In some ways he'll be a risk. But you could say that about any manager with an amazing CV.
However he'll have many advantages that the likes of Pep and Jose won't have if/when he takes over.
I do hope fans keep an open mind regarding Giggs.

Giggs promised!?! You really shouldn't believe everything you read in the papers!
Sorry but unless you've proven your managerial credentials then you have not earned the United job. Giggs most certainly hasn't proven his
If the club is going to appoint someone outside of the recognised group of top managers then giggs has as good a chance as anyone because he knows and will likely handle the expectations. I don't see it him being screwed over if he doesn't get the job and I don't think he should be forced by the club into any new management set up. The future of the team and club is of more concern to me than that of giggs tbh
I'd be sceptical about Giggs taking over. Not because of his inexperience but because I can't see much of his stamp on this team at present.
Even when SAF was in charge you could see Queiroz's influence.as well as hearing about it. I'd support Giggs of course but I'd be much happier as a fan first if I could hear what his ideals are and what his plans are should he get the role.
Has anybody at the club told Giggs hes the next manager
Apart from LVG
He has been too quiet recently with all thats going on. Im surprised the media haven't tried to nail him down.
Giggs could be a disaster. What evidence is there to support the fact that he's a half decent manager let alone a top class one that can take over at one of the biggest clubs in the world?
As said above he needs to go elsewhere and cut his teeth and get some actual managerial experience before anyone can even consider him in the role.
After two failed regimes since Fergie left you need to get the next managerial appointment right and Giggs would be the biggest risk you could probably take at this stage.
why does he have the God given right to manage us? earn some bloody experience at Swansea and let's see if you can make them a top 4 team.
What makes you think that he thinks he has the right?
I think Robb has summed it up very well and sensibly.
Do you think Guardiola would get Swansea top 4? I certainly don't so I don't see why that would be the minimum standard you would expect.
