MASSIVE REBUILDING JOB

I don't think it's a massive rebuilding job

We need a couple of signings but even more we need half the squad back from injury

And people forget just how young a lot of these players are, they're still developing.

We Deffo need 2/3 medium to high quality players in there 👍🏾

I don't think we need to do anything other than the normal replacement of players. This Jan/Summer we could concentrate on replacing Skrtel or Toure, a replacement for Lucas and someone to provide width.

What we have for to ensure is that they're of the highest quality possible, otherwise it's pointless and will keep us stuck in this continuous rut.

Pure....you echo my thoughts yesterday in my article. The season remids me of when houllier took over, he had a similar job to do but did have the class of owen and gerrard coming through. Some players are past it, others are not good enough and finally some cant cope mentally.

A lot of people forget that fsg have a philosophy of buying young potential players and selling at a higher price, ala suarez. Until this changes, and it may well do considering fsg have little "soccer" knowledge then we will have more player failures, its the nature of the fsg beast.

What to do. Well a change in philosophy would be welcome and a wholesale change in player recruitment, the two go hand in hand. We are LFC and as such ahould be able to entice quality players info the club, I am sure klopp can do this.

It will take a some time but maybe not as long as some think.

I'd say its a fairly big job. Probably 5 or 6 first team starters and getting shot of a lot of deadwood.

The most surprising thing over the last couple of weeks has been the seeming lack of game plan. Where did that gegenpressing malarky go?

The treatment table

Gegenpressing is never going to work with the most static forward in the league leading our line, like Kaiser mentioned you've got Hendo, Ings and Sturridge all injured who are perfect for that system

We need Dr Zaf back

Man...I was wondering the same actually, I put it down to a lack of pre season and the injuries taking its toll.

The tragic thing is that though BR's constant changing of playing style we have ended up with a hotch potch of players who have no idea how to play as a team.

The only thing they all have in common is a lack of fighting spirit and determination to win.

The whole shabang is an shambles. As mentioned above its going to take at least 3-4 transfer windows before we see any real improvement. It's not just signing new players that will be the problem it's clearing the decks of the deadwood. We will probably see a few more like Enrique, nowhere near the first team and still picking up a fat wage packet.

Infuriating.

Side note, I think getting rid of lots of players at Dortmund was a lot easier as the level of investement / write off totals were probably a packet of crisps and a few shillings. We may want to at least spin loan fees and hope some of them come good to pay off the rest.

How I long for the days when we had leaders in the team like Carra, Masch, Pepe etc

We don't need 10 new players. We need to adress the weak areas in our first team. Those are a goalkeeper, dominant centre back and a physical midfield player who can pass and a winger who can cross.

Every team will have players who are a bit gutless and go missing if things are going wrong sadly we have a whole team of them bar Hendo and Sakho, like you say the team has been stripped of the players who could inspire the rest of the team on the pitch.

Whoever we bring in must be the right type of player mentally as well as technically.

For next season I think the following tweaks required

New Keeper,
cb play gomez when he is back,
A powerhouse midfielder
A proper winger
Forward {Danny ings}

We were pretty inconsistent ourselves last season. We also had a league cup final run, Europa, a new coach that has a particular style, but with players the coach inherited. It wasn't always pretty.

The similarities are striking

Lots of our fans were saying in the Summer it was a bang average squad that would struggle to finish top 6 without a huge overhaul, but as it was it was minor surgery really - Alderweireld, Dier's positional change, and Alli.

I think it will be a bit of a rollercoaster for you until May, with highs and lows, as it was for us last year. I wouldn't be surprised if the surgery needed to sort you out properly is minor

People significantly underestimate what a difference only a couple of players and a bit of confidence can make.

Liverpool are always rebuilding. You have so many average players, you need to stick with a manager for 5 years and build slowly out of this.

Gegenpressing? I'm watching it now, by a team called Spurs. V good game of football, different styles being played by each side, cracking goals from Lenon and Alli, esp Alli; one bounce and then back of the net, goalie didn't even see it.

This post, well-meaning I'm sure, mirrors many others done over the last 24 hours, calling for dramatic change. On reflection, following that path would probably make us worse. Yes, the team were abysmal, but they are still good players.

Yes, I think Jurgen will drop into the transfer market, but not on a large scale as hoped for by some. Not until the summer anyway. Following their first goal, the confidence drained out of our side, and they never recovered from it. Any fight died with that goal.

Patience people, have faith in the manager, a happy-go-lucky chappie who the world laughs with, but a very steely individual who I would want or like to cross or upset.

Klopp will sort us out given time, he is still working with the average players that Rodgers had.

Not massive, just pretty extensive.

We need PROVEN quality now! No more potential, no more raw talent. We need experienced winners in their prime.

With Rodgers we were on a road to nowhere.

With Klopp we're going to be pulled up, get a new feeling about the place and stay hungry. His mind is set on generating a new feeling about the place. Soon we're all gonna be wanting to stay up late to watch television man Lineker introduce our latest winning performance.

It may not be a perfect world but he'll soon be burning down the house with a team that will swamp the opposition. People like us will be back in the city of dreams living the wild, wild life at the top.
