great article

I think carroll was really good today, and especially as he's just a squad player, I think its very unfair the criticism he received for today. Also I know what you mean about Alli, sometimes he does hold on to it too long, maybe he's trying to draw the defender to him but a few times today I noticed he didn't play the simple pass and held on too long. Can't complain though what a player!

Great first half - team tired but I'm looking forward to our home games. 3 away games out of 4 is tough.

You didn't have the equivalent of Kone in your Team so there is a head start already. Our second half was much better and from my position a draw was just about right with both sides able to claim they should have taken all 3 points. Yes we will get better but only if our Manager learns that playing out from the back is not the permanent answer both goals yours and ours came from mixing it up a bit. Our best players second half Besic and Del Boy. Thing is our Manager will not see it like that and come next game Kone will start again.

Too many second halves have been like that for us. Where is this supposed super fitness that used to see us score late winners? Ok, that was all probably a myth anyway, but we do look like we lack something in the second half of matches. Surprising that the timing of our goal wasn't more advantageous for us for the 2nd half.

Agreed, hardly a surprise given the fixture congestion and Everton were guilty of burning out in midfield too, but our midfield did go missing in the last 10.

I also got the impression Poch was willing to risk losing in search of a winner, given his substitutions and Dier pushing on. Obviously 'to dare is to do', but I don't think Mourinho, Wenger or another top manager would have put Onomah on instead of Bentaleb. Carroll and Kane looked particularly knackered.

Also, apologies - Mason wasn't on the bench. So hardly a surprise he wasn't substituted on for Carroll

Spurs ran out of legs second half and that allowed Barkley to run things more.

Spurs still just edged it slightly but I feel after the second half show we should have taken all three points.

As I pointed out in another article, Dier was the one Moyes let slip through his fingers. Alli looks like he will make a great partnership with Barkley for England

One thing I was pleased with about Alli today was that he was on the receiving end of a few snidey kicks but didn't respond. If there has been a minor worry it's that he can have a bit of a temper but his self control today was spot on.

I dont see how anybody can rate Carrolls distribution look at it again if he had a success rate of 50% I would be surprised and whenever he did give teh ball away it was in an extremely dangerous area.

As for that header that set Besic up that was totally pathetic to be honest

That's bolloxs. Spurs should have been out of sight in the first half,Everton were the better side in the second.

Second half was pretty open and Everton may have just edged it. Spurs were so much better in the first half than their opponents though, and hence were overall the better team.

Just the one more shot on target tells a different story.

All good and well having loads of possession but goals win games

If you thought Carroll was poor what about Eriksen? At least Carroll has a bit of bottle even if he is a weakness

Grandspurs

I agree Carroll did lose the ball a lot in the last 10 - as I said he should have been substituted due to fatigue

But in the first half he was excellent in switching the play and starting counter attacks.

I think a combination of Carrol's technical ability and Dier's athleticism would result in pretty much a perfect central midfielder. Dier's medium/long range passing is poor. All of our players have their strengths

Carroll is no more technical than say Bentaleb… but Bentaleb is bigger and more physical too…

Not being funny mate but you are at home. Spurs were hardly going to keep up that sort of intensity through the whole 90 mins. We dominated you 1st half and should of been 2-0 up atleast. 2nd half you come back into it I agree but if you evaluate both halves then spurs edged it. Anyway I think it's a good point for us.

I cant comment on that as I have never seen him tackle he pulls out instead

We looked dead on our feet and were hanging on in the last 10, that is the down side of the pressing game.
