Which means what exactly ? The year Titanic sank I believe. No wait a minute maybe you are saying you have 1912 promising younsters.
All my fault, asking a sensible question on the Arsenal board
One day I was sleeping under the bridge
In the past we've fielded kids and have been dumped out of the 4th round by league 1 sides, so this approach of experience with youth is the right way .The reason we fielded many first teamers is because all our fringe players are injured (arteta, flamini, welbeck, ospina, rosicky)
Going forward we will most likely play.
Ospina
Debuchy Gabriel chambers Gibbs
Flamini arteta
Campbell rosicky Ox
Welbeck
Out of those 6 were injured and the other 5 played
Bellerin aside I don't think our youth prospects are as good as they once were. Iwobi and Jeff seem decent and the others like Zelalem/ Gnabry / Akpom are out on loan. can't think of anyone else who is even close to making the step up.
Ospina
Debuchy Gabriel Mert Gibbs
Chambers Iwobi
Campbell Jeff Ox
Malen
If we draw a League 1/2 side.
Malen is far and away one of the most technically gifted youth strikers we've had in our ranks in recent years.
Elneny probably in place of Jeff (pushing Iwobi forward)
Alexis, Ramsey, Ozil on the bench if needed.
I'm not sure that policy really applies to the FA cup. It is mainly for the CoC which we did and crashed out badly.
In the past we've fielded kids and have been dumped out of the 4th round by league 1 sides,
-------
Never happened!
OP, we always play a rotated side mainly of senior players in the FA Cup especially when playing PL opposition. May have been a different story if we played a League 2 side.
Saying that, even when we played Leyton Orient a few years back only Miquel played in the first game, and Miquel and Henderson in the replay.

Thank you for a sensible reply. Seem to remember you putting out kids and scoring 6 at Anfield not so long ago
League cup, and there were not many kids in that team. Hoyte and Traore were the only two.
Funny how you thank the most inaccurate reply as sensible
Goals by Aliadiere, Julio Batista (3) and Song Billong !!!
Wouildn't have said they were regular first teamers - but I may be wrong
Oi, come back with those goalposts!!!
Your question was regarding youngsters, and specifically teenagers.

Point taken - the principle still stands, highly understrength side as opposed to yesterday
Different competition. We always play experienced XIs in the FA Cup, and the team yesterday was far from first choice. Chambers/Ox in midfield, Iwobi starting, Ozil, Mertesacker, Monreal, Ramsey all left out of the XI, and masses of injuries.

So many teams don't these days in the scramble for 4th place and the CL cash cow.
I always want my team to win every game but if we lose today I shan't be that bothered.
Cheers
So you understand there has been no change of policy, and the idea that we have a history of using a lot of kids in the FA Cup is erroneous?
In Cup games you have <wink>
In the Carling Cup our 2nd string seemed to get a lot further than in the last few years when we have played a more experienced team.
As the squad gets stronger, opportunities for youth players to get decent playing time, in any competition, is diminished. Same is true at all clubs.
There's your answer.

The feckwits are back I see
OK, now you have Kane and Ali you're going to convince yourself that Spurs will win the league in the next three years. Whatever mate.
I must admit your generation of youth are better than the Huddlestone-Lennon generation.
As mentioned, top teams squads are getting bigger so the youth players are not getting so many opportunities as the past. What you see now, especially for The Arsenal, is a few youth players that get combined into the 2nd string but the rest is an interchange of positions, for example Gibbs for Monreal.
