No goals in the first half of our last 10 home games. Yes we are very very boring. You might enjoy the monotony but you're in a very small minority

Hafi pack in sahn it ain't worth it. You're better than that.

MUFC 230 Shots 77 on target vs opposition 108 shots 43 on target so who is boring?

So what you're saying is, it's not ManU who are boring it's every other team?

That sounds like an ugly bloke claiming he is handsome, it's just everyone else is ugly so that's what is seen as the norm

Most teams play an 8-1-1 formation against us and we get called boring for playing a 2-6-2 formation.

posted on 10/1/16

So now you're saying every team who rolls up at OT plays 8-1-1?

Have you ever been to a game hafi?

Most teams tactics this season at OT 8 plays near own box, 1 player just outside the box and a fast attacker just behind the half way line. Thats the majority of teams tactics against us at OT.

We are boring and the fact that other teams set up that way against us is no excuse anymore.

LVG said at the end of last season - and early on in this season - that finding a way to break down "park the bus" opposition was the next phase of this team's development. After 6 months there is no progress in that regard and not enough evidence of urgency and passion in the players to make it happen imo.

hafi, if it makes you feel better, you keep believing it...even if the rest of the footballing world disagrees

Action Zones according to whoscored.com at OT home the least amount in own half=Man Utd 1st 21%. Middle= Man Utd 8th with 45% similar to Man City. Most in opposition half= Man Utd with 35%.

I already said Vertonghen many times the complete opposite is usually true about what the media write. Last season it was the DDG fascination despite it being the least amount of work DDG managed in a season in the premierleague since he came to Man Utd saves wise.

It's not me, it's everybody else at fault

Hafi you're at home you'd expect to have more shots than the opposition.

Having the most short passes is a stat that shows why fans think you're boring case it's always caution first, you play far too many short passes and allow the opposition to get back into position then this leads to you having the shots you refer to being blocked etc. you've no other option but to try a shot cause the slow cautious nature of the build up allows the opposition to be compact and organised and this is proven in no first half goals at home in ten games

It was funny last season BT Sport aka bitter sport pundits where in mourning that Man Utd beat Newcastle United and that DDG saved us from a beating single handedly and we were lucky then they said lets show you the highlights and about 80% of it was man utd many near misses and wrongly disallowed goal and then they backtracked and said looking at man utd definately deserved to win. Then aftermath show news headline says man utd smash and grab raid at Newcastle United

Teams have always sat in at old Trafford but there is a stronger emphasis on this tactic in recent years to be compact and play on the counter

Quit with the stats Hafi, OT officially the most boring place to watch football in England so far this season

Kneerash

This, hafi, is the difference between understanding the game and relying on 'statistics' from internet sites who wouldn't know genuine statistical analysis if it bit them on the 'arris

posted on 10/1/16

I reckon we also had the most touches in the opposition area this season but media don't care about that stat, they prefer to portray us as boring and negative.

posted on 10/1/16

I like how you say teams have always sat in at OT. What I am implying is we are called boring negative yet are the only side attacking majority of the games. If we had better finishers we would have won majority of our games this season. Thats why in the CL we had 83 shots the opposition had 41 shots we scored 7 they scored 7. We are not clinical enough.

How many hours of your life have you wasted writing this article Hafi.......
OK I'll play Devil's advocate.... So we have had 77 shots on target in 17 games.... That equates to just 1 shot every 20 minutes (Just over 4 a game). Pretty dire for a home side wouldn't you say

posted on 10/1/16

Because they're not stats hafi, they are individual data points which need professional statistical analysis and interpretation. This is something none of the internet stat sites do.

You can't take a random stat from something so highly variable as a football match and expect it to stand up. Too many other factirs come into play, as kneerash has already pointed out

Teams sit in against us because they know we lack the creativity and desire to hurt them. It's a very easy strategy to adopt and is successful alarmingly regularly

Hafi what did you prefer Fergies high scoring United or this current LVG side?

posted on 10/1/16

I prefer this side to our 2012/13 side style of play. Only wish Wilson and Hernandez were playing for us.
