i dont like "him" but he is a more than capable spl striker and tbh he could easily be the difference in united staying up or going down.

he's better than some of what we are dishing up just now.

Bit desperate Ivan.

Although this could catapult United up the table.

I always wanted the horrible fvck to be celltic captain.

He'll fit in well in Dundee though

They've nae idea who their parents are either

Smid, that's my concern too.

I still feel what we really need is a decent CB and a creative player with pace. Stokes is neither.

Saying that I'd still take him as we do have limited options. I just hope he has the right attitude.

I'ds rather go to Hibs tbh for a few months, rather than be adrift at the bottom of a league fighting against relegation. Hibs are in a title battle, and have a cracking cup tie coming up, also Edinburgh is better than Dundee etc etc and he knows the club having player there before.

I'd be happy if he went to Utd though to help out as I don't want them to be relegated.

We keep Ciftci and get rid of Stokes, really?

Genius.

rnr, I would imagine he'll still live where he is if he played for us and commuted up.

He could get in the car with Paton and Erskine

My understanding is that Celtic don't want him to go to Hibs? They want him to play top flight football?

Citcti has got the appetite

Ciftci did well at United and Stokes is twice the player. If he's up for it.

"Citcti has got the appetite"

Unfortunately not for hitting the net.

Not sure that's the case either as one of the most promising players at the club in Henderson was loaned to the championship for a year, I don;t think Stokes will play for Celtic again tbh so it doesn't matter where he goes I don't think.

Would be happy for him to go to either though, and you never know, if he did go to Utd and played a big part in saving them whilst scoring a few goals then he may get another chance in the summer. Doubt it though

Mixu also says he feels United are not favourites to sign Stokes and he has spoken to him. #bbcsportscot

I really don't think it will happen.

Stokes will never play for Celtic again. Celtic wan't him playing at a decent level to keep his value as high as possible.

I hope you get him Ivan so my prediction that you stay up comes to pass, no certainty but he will help with the goals for tally

If you were Stokes where would you go? A promotion push with Hibs might appeal more than almost certain relegation with United.

He also might figure he'll score more goals with Hibs and this move is all about putting himself in the shop window.

Smid, possibly, although you are maybe talking about 1k a week being the difference as Utd are probably tightening their belts ahead of the high possibility they will be relegated. I'd say he's on about 12K a week at Celtic and Celtic will prob be paying about 10K of that still.

The clubs prefernce Im sure would be down south in the championship but the player himself might want to stay here so he doesn't have to move for a few months and can just commute from Glasgow every day to training. ICT was prob ruled out right away due to travelling but Edinburgh and Dundee are fine to commute every day, more so Edinburgh.

"could be the difference in surviving or not"

Zach, my thoughts exactly Utd will be pushing for this, good luck tae them
