'Arrogant Martin Atkinson'

I don't expect anything less when Atkinson refs us, when I saw his name come up as ref I already knew we would lose and I suspect we weren't alone. That man definitely has his favourites, and I'm not saying City are amongst them, but we definitely aren't.

All I can imagine is that a handsome young Evertonian stole away the girl of his dreams when he was younger!!

It was all down to "home leg second advantage" I'm afraid, despite this from BBC Sport....

......Everton manager Roberto Martinez was left fuming at what he said was a "hurtful and unfair" exit at the hands of Manchester City in the Capital One Cup.

"that a handsome young Evertonian"

Atkinson may not be chiselled from stone, but there's a fecking slim chance an old love flame left him for an extra off the hills have eyes.

It isn't professional for the ref to take a cheap dig at a player, but completely understandable**

No it isn't understandable or acceptable..............

Saw the replays a few times on sky sports news, the ball (whole of the ball) was only just out.

However how many Everton players appealed for it? Counted 1

Did any everton players spot the ball being out and suddenly disappear from marking De Bruyne? No. He was free on the edge of the box.

If Sterling dribbled the ball out brought it into play and scored himself then Everton can feel robbed.

They hadn't marked De Bruyne at all. They have to look at their own defending, or rather Martinez should.

But I guess he won't.

I suppose having fewer games to play will help Martinez achieve champions league football that Kenwright has been promised.

Good luck Bobby!

But it's acceptable for players to abuse the ref?**

Which players were abusing the Ref?

Although I dislike Atkinson, you can sort of imagine the line used by Jagielka to illicit this response...

its unlikely this response came from a simple question about the incident but more of a statement of the Ref's abilities

Without knowing exactly the terms that Jagielka used its hard to criticise Atkinson, or not, as the case may be.

It's a tough one for the ref to spot anyway and really it's the lino's call and ref has to stand by his call.

If Jagielka just asked politely then Atkinson is a bit out of order, but when do footballers ever ask politely...

I've only ever refereed once - it was an Under 9's game, and the amount of crap I got from a couple of parents because I gave a decision against their little darling was enough to put me off doing it ever again.
-----------------
Didn't know that you got refs in bowls.

Didn't know you had under 9's in bowls either. Maybe RAP meant under 90's

I may have Everton tinted specs on when I say this but I struggle to imagine Jags being a little git on the pitch and illiciting this sort of response.

Everton got away with few dodgy decisions earlier part of the season..

Atkinson has it in for us since his humiliation on the Rodwell red.

I know every ref should cover a number of home and away games for each side, but this was nearly Poll at the World Cup level of mistake.

He will be going to the Euros!!

Media revenue rules the world, referee's are the puppets. I am sick of the game tbh
