Can't blame them, we did the same re Sterling.
Only if we don't have the money.
So yeah, annoying
hes raised the price by 13.5mil, the same amount we bid under by on their initial valuation, hes trying to make us bid their original asking fee

have you just pulled this name out randomly?
Hopeful we can make it happen in the summer but of course, if he continues in his current form then it won’t be easy.

No, why?
Think Milik is a good player that Klopp can make absolutely brilliant.

Article suggests LFC likely to put in another bid before deadline day with Klopp wanting to meet Tex personally??
After all the talk of 70 million euros, you know full well, that hell go to Chelsea in the summer for about 35 million quid.
Anyway, might be worth forgetting about trying to acquire players from this neck of the woods, the clubs are mostly owned by thugs and criminals, so leave them alone to do business with each other.
They always ask more than they get in the end
Shaktar had no intention in selling Texiera in this January window, they have simply drummed up interest in a player most had never heard of, playing in the backwoods of world football, in a view to cashing in on him come the summer.
Job done.
Played Liverpool and Ayre good style.
You seriously think top football clubs and managers hadn't heard of this guy?
Weird.
What concerns me is that just like the Alexis Sanchez saga, we seem to have pinned all orur attention to one player.
Where are the other names? Where's the plan B and C ?
there arent enough good players around to have a plan C
We'd be better off not getting anyone rather than forcing a signing through in desperation

I agree with that but the approach should be to not put all your eggs in one basket - a la Sanchez and ending up with Balotelli.

This is a different situation to that. We're not desperate to sign a player in this window, we had to get a striker in that summer.

No, obviously not, but in terms of the general populous of football fans, and in terms of exposure in the media, Texiera was pretty much unknown, and not talked about within this countries media.
After the last couple of weeks, his profile has been raised, and this will certainly help in terms of any deal that is made to acquire him in the summer.

The very first stories linking us to him all indicated that this was an attempt to sign him for an end of season arrival. Shaktar made it clear from the outset that he woudln;t leave in january.
we wouldnt pay 20+mil and then loan him out until the summer
