no. one star article. massive over reaction.

i am disappointed about no cb and lack or another striker, and winger cover, but your article is way OTT.

levy is clearly bearing in mind that this is harrys last season, and wont splash out too much, and is also probably using the money to help finance the CRUCIAL NDP.

so short-sighted. Cast your mind back to the level we were at when he took over from Alan Sugar and then read this article again. Crazy reaction.

rubbish, we shifted loads of players we didnt want, got a few we did. And a load of money also. No point getting robbed if theres no suitable deals to be found.

In what way? You are happy that since we made the Champions League we have recouped more than we have spent whilst slipping down the table at the same time as season tickets have gone up. Levy is all about Levy, he is not a football man so why is he dealing 100% with transfers with little input from Harry or any other football people at the club. He is a control freak who believes he is the club. Sorry but what do you want for the club?

so you make absolutely no allowances for the constraints we operate under no?

And where has that money gone?

Honestly you guys need to take your head out of the clouds. Whilst everyone around us is stregthening we are standing still (or going backwards some could argue).

Which one of you think we actaully have a chance of finsihing 4th this year?

you know what mate i wont have a go at you because you remind me of how i used to think a while ago. you clearly have passion for spurs, as do i, and you are ambitious for us, as am i. but sometimes you have to sacrifice things is the short term to have a brighter long term future. you will see this in time. it doesnt change the fact that i am disappointed as i thought we could have got particularly a top CB, but Levy wont be robbed.

Keep the faith bro.

It's got nothing to do with ego. The Modric decision was about principle, not ego. We had to show we weren't a selling club. It had nothing to do with DL.

Sleep on this and you'll feel stupid in the morning.

Do not worry as next season will all be about the following

New Beginning
New Training Ground
New Stadium being built
New Supporters
New Manager
New Permanent Striker
New Midfield Playmaker
New Welsh Wing Wizard
New Central Defender
New Goalkeeper

I would like a statement from Levy as to why we did as little as we did this window. Is the money being used for a new stadium? if so then fair enough, if not then WTF is going on. We have seen Liverpool spend copious amounts as they know that 4th is there for the taking.

I would like to see us go all out for the Europa league now, win something with what is tyhe best Spurs squad in our premier league history before Modrat/Bale/VDV/Lennon/Sandro move onto bigger and better things in the next couple of years

That article is a load of rubbish. Tabloid hacks!!!! We've had it right in the neck from them lot all bloody summer. There's no way Levy would say that. They've created a character based on the conversation he had with Modric ages ago and assumed he's some sort of tyrant. So annoying. Did you write that article ParkLaneYid?

Knee jerk reaction. I think your passion has got the better of you. We have better striker than the ones we currently have and a better midfielder in Parker than Wilson.

They will improve no just the squad but the team. I'd be abit gutted if we overpaid for Cahill. The one area is centre back that worries me. We are lightweight and it may come back to haunt us.

As for Levy going, who do you suggest replace him? Call me a fool but I don't want to be another Chelsea or Man City. It will end up in tears one day.

Would also like to know why the Cahill deal failed - bet we were haggling over a million or so

Don't patronise me mate. Will you feel stupid at teh end of the season when we are way way off 4th spot?

Chronic:
Modric WAS about his ego, he was done up like a kipper with Berbatov and clearly resolved to never be taking for the same ride. But really what has it got us, a player who doesn't want to play for us, a player our manager would have sold and a squad apparently very disrupted.

Guys we have needed a striker for 18 months and we only eneded up with a temporary one due to City#s Monopoly of football. Sorry but its not good enough for my ambition for my club. If it is for you then good luck. Enjoy clapping Modric off regulary this season like the mugs did on Sunday.

why should we sell modric? modric has no choice now but to knuckle down to be honest. sell modric and kiss goodbye to bale sandro and vdv in the near future too.

if we sold him then it stinks of lack of ambition.

trust me i have had my rants in the past about lack of new striker, but this was a difficult window for levy and harrys comments didnt make it any easier. cut him some slack

Roll on January hey! Hopefully after the international break we will have fit players back in the squad and the team will start getting some results. It's not all doom and gloom.

No one wants to be a selling club but the reality of modern football is that everyone is a selling club if that individual club decide. Ronaldo did it to United, I wanted to keep Modric at the start but once it got to a point we really were just killing ourselves by keeping him. Sorry but i disagree that he has to knuckle down and has no choice. You will see alot of Modric is out injured until January and very little effort come January we will be in the same position with the only difference being Chelsea's bid will be a lot less than 40m. The situation won't go away will it? I accept it may show Bale, VDV etc that they can go when they like but the reality is from what has come out of the club the players are all behind Modric and his quest to 'better himself', i'd suggest it will do little to inspire much from them personally.

Still no answer to anyone thinking we will get 4th (a 4th places that really should be gettable this season given the gooners troubles)

posted on 1/9/11

Sorry Parklane, can't agree with this although I do also fear we will slip down the table at the finish of this season. That may be more to do with Harry's management/tactics/team selection imo, if it turns out to be the case. Our current squad isn't bad, let's be fair.

I think Levy is treading a very careful path, trying to save up cash (presumably/hopefully for new stadium otherwise how else will be able to compete long-term) while at the same time keeping the quality of the squad such that we can stay in & around the top 6 and not fall back to regular mid table obscurity.

not sure if we can get 4th to be honest. we are already 7 points off the pace and its only just september.

we are heavily reliant on ade hitting the ground running, and we need to keep our players fit.
