What I mean from the first bit is; that the feeling of doing an upper, or smoking weed or drinking is an ACTUAL feeling. Having a cigarette doesn't give you any feeling.

It's the opposite with smoking. Not having one is what gives you the feeling. A negative feeling rather than the positive one.

At least other less addictive drugs give you that high, but cigs just feck you in the a$$ without the common decency of giving you a wee reach around.

Stopped smoking 2 and half years ago. I've had one or two when drunk, and they are the most unpleasant thing now. Can't see me ever going back.

I do use an e-cig thing, which is great for keeping your hands busy - it's a lot about the habit as well as the chemical. If you can break the habit cold turkey, fair play - I couldn't, but the e-cig is a better, and far cheaper, choice for nicotine consumption.

Actually, my nicotine is now down to almost 0, but I still enjoy puffing on the metal stick - it's a bit silly really, but who cares.

I'm a heavy smoker have been for years, I love smoking if I could smoke in the office I'd have one lit all day!

But I've been doing lots of exercise over the past few months, boxing and football 4 nights a week minimum, and I've lost like 2 stone and am fitter than I've been in a decade, but now I can feel myself hittign a ceiling on the fitness, the smokes are stopping me going any further so now I'm really starting to consider quitting.

Thinking of getting a vape pipe as I won't go cold turkey as I'd kill someone! the joints too I love a joint! Have to quit them or just smoke bongs I guess!!

I gave up when I realised I was paying to kill myself.

I do smoke weed though but that gets you high so I don't mind spending money on it as I get something out of it

I'm actually surprised at the amount of weed smokers on here. If it's representative of the general population, like 1 in 5 people do it!

Stopped Smoking weed about 5 or 6 years ago. Purely anecdotal but Everyone of my smoker pals are now ex pals and are in pretty much the exact same life situations as before. No ones moved on
