Don't think spurs are over reliant on him. But if he did leave, they'd have to find someone equally good if they want to maintain this standard
Berizzo would be a good replacement for you if he did leave. They both have a similar philosophy and has done a very good job at Celta

I do not think so. I was worried at first but all of the squad has the ability to adapt to new tactics, a new phillosphy, a new style of play.
It is important you do not allow a head coach a proper say on transfers as this way you will always have a squad that can be used. You want a whole management system top to bottom every level not just one man then it all crumbles. (Like our academy has crumbled after Tim and ramsey)
I do not think poch will leave. United are getting Jose despite the media saying otherwise. unless China come in for him i cannot see Poch leaving anytime soon.
I was chatting to a Swansea connected guy over the weekend. He reckoned the only reason Brendan Rodgers didn't go back to Swansea when Monk left, is because Levy has sounded him out to replace Poch, should Chelsea come in for him in the Summer.
Not sure how true it is.
Massive wum fail though Anfield!

I think Poch is at that stage where he NEEDS to finish what he started.
So I think he will resist any approaches for the next 18-24 months, and after that it will be dependent on a) How the team has don. b) How the stadium has progressed. c) Whether he feels he could build a dynasty at Spurs or could the lure of a Real Madrid or Barcelona tempt him to go.
Under present circumstances I cannot see Levy allowing him to leave for another English club, without massive compensation.
Plus I know United are a massive club, but would Poch want to go there under current circumstances where he knows if he did not get quick results his head might well be on the block!
I personally think he will honour his current contract, and possibly be amenable to signing a better one if Levy so desires.
I was only thinking about this the other day. Certainly in my lifetime of supporting the club Spurs have had to deal with their better players being bought by bigger clubs and then trying to cope without them. The same thing's never happened with any Spurs manager being poached or tempted away. Just goes to show how right Poch is getting it that this talk is starting but I think we'd all be in rather unfamiliar territory should Poch's head be turned.
I for one don't think he'll be off anywhere at the end of this season. Seems like Spurs is a project he's really invested in.

Dunno why Brendan is still out of work. His stock is getting pushed up with every poor Klopp result.

He can come in and manage the catering if he wants.

Doesn't matter as Poch is staying with us for life
Hi Gezza, interesting post here
Think you highlight Poch's strengths really well. Think he's part of a system working really well. I'd like to think he recognises the good team he has at Spurs with exciting prospects (stadium move etc) and also more rational expectations. Can't see him necessarily getting the time he would need at Utd and Chelsea where he's being touted at going, which he proved he needed with us last season.
However if painfully he did leave, I think it would just require a manager with a similar ethos. Like with Southampton, he was replaced by Koeman. Not suggesting Koeman is who we should go for but someone who has a similar aura and philosophy. The succession planning Chronic refers to
Can we please keep the word philosophy off our fecking board please !

Isn't this the same at Spurs though? If he'd done an AVB he would be gone before the summer.
I appreciate Man Utd are a different prospect but they are no more gun ho with sacking managers than we are.

Hi Thicken
I know we've hardly proven ourselves to be patient with managers.
I think the difference with us and United is the expectations. If Poch was achieving at Spurs what LVG is at Utd he would be fairly safe. Let's be honest most were just expecting top 5 this season.
Poch competing for the title with us (although I don't like to admit it at risk of jinxing it) is a bonus for us. It would be an expectation at Utd.
Although he would have access to more funds etc. I agree with Greaves that the additional expectations would hopefully detract him from them.

Chicken,
Yes normally it would be. However I think there has been a considerable change of policy & thought at the club.
I really do think Levy has seen that firing a manager too soon adversely affects the club & inevitably can actually take us backwards.
I also think, whether by good judgement or luck, the club now has a coach who has transformed the team & no longer are we a soft touch as in the past few years.
Only when a club comes in and guarantees a manager 3-4 years tenure to build and develop the club can anyone take any job in the PL with full confidence they will be given the time needed.
