if he didn't know she was underage he should have pleaded guilty for banging a minor, and pleaded not guilty for grooming.

Apparently they've got him and he knew full well she was under age.

Thing that bothered me with this is the delay in the trial. I'm not saying Adam Johnson is the most famous footballer out there but lots were aware of the trial.

The fact it got delayed (not too sure if there was a legitimate reason for this) I felt it could of sent the message out that rape is not a serious crime. If he was suspected for murder would he have been playing the past set of months?

For me there should have been an immediate trial so his name was cleared or prosecuted before being allowed to be in the spotlight again.

Irrespective of whether you agree AJ knew the girls age he broke the law which protects many other vulnerable underaged kids.

Just think it's a shame that it now seems lots of people have been watching and supporting a criminal.

If he definitely knew she was underage then no doubt a prison sentence should be given but if he was unaware and she lied about it then a prison sentence is harsh for me

What a mess. I don't know enough about the case as its ongoing but I'm shocked he was knowingly grooming a child online. And no, I don't agree that girls of 15 are not children. In the UK they are classified as kids and there is no excuse or mitigation in my opinion.
