yes Kanes was great but what about Ramsey's goal when Rooney scored a similar goal he was called a genius.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ramsey is Welsh, not English. Only English player's are relevant in an England team context.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
where did I say Ramsey is English ? I was making a point regarding Rooney and he is English I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
example......

English player scores great goal he's probably called lucky.

Foreign player scores great goal he's probably called world class.

English coach wins Champions league and he's probably called lucky.

Foreign coach wins Champions league and he's probably called world class.

in all probability Roy will pick all his favourites and a load of injury prone and out of form players. How the hell are England ever going to win a tournament like this when he has already guaranteed both Rooney and Wilshire places, absolute nonsense to keep taking players like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
tbf to Rooney, other than Welbeck (another of those Hodgson favourites), Rooney is the only player that has offered any consistent goalscoring threat. How many goals are there throughout the team?

Hopefully Wilshere gets fit and can bet selected. Might be a bit unfair on other players, but he always seems to play very well for England. Better than he does for Arsenal. Walcott and ox will do well to get picked. Neither really deserve it this season, and neither look particularly good for England when they do play.
Welbeck should go, been doing well since his return and like Wilshere seems to go up a level in an England shirt.

I'd put Forster ahead of hart at the moment. He's been very impressive recently, seems bit more comanding. And Got to take a few from Spurs and Leicester.

If we play to our strengths and not default to slow passing and build up we could do quite well in the euros. Got a potential squad full of hungry players desperate to impress

Word of advice peep's........

FORGET ABOUT JACK WILSHIRE. Just forget all about him. The man is a walking A&E ward.

England have quite a few hungry in form young-ish attackers like Kane, Vardy, Sturridge plus Rooney

not bad
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What England seriously lack is basic team work !

Why do we always play like 11 clueless individual's and run around like headless chicken's ?

Danny Rose might be worth a try in the friendlies.

Drinkwater, Albrighton and Lennon too.

How can people call the French team average when they have the likes of

Martial
Pogba
Griezeman
Benzema
Varane
Lloris
Lacazette
Matuidi
Veratti

posted on 7/3/16

Veratti is Italian, but other than that France's squad is packed with players of the highest quality.

If managed right and they don't fall out and implode like usual, the French can go very far with their current crop. Most of them are a good age too for the next few tournaments.

How can people call the French team average when they have the likes of

Martial - young, inexperienced, far from consistent
Pogba -
Griezeman -
Benzema - not prolific
Varane - not filled his potential
Lloris - dodgy keeper
Lacazette - one season wonder, done nothing at international level
Matuidi - decent
Veratti - French?

Albrighton just seems like one of them hard workers who runs a lot.

but Hodgson has shown nothing in his long career that he is a good tactician

-----------------------------------------------

I wouldn't say Greece were tactically sophisticated in 2004. They had a pretty simple, reactive strategy, which they stuck to throughout the tournament.

How about Hodgson's getting Fulham to the UEFA cup final as an example of getting a team with relatively weak resources a long way into a knock-out competition?

England are obviously not among the favourites but less talented sides and bigger underdogs have won tournaments.

We will not get anywhere unless Carrick is in the center of midfield. Yes he was poor on Sunday against West Brom but international football is a different kettle of fish and not as intense as the PL. If you're going to stack the line up with young players with little International experience you are going to need Carrick's composure and experience to guide them through on the pitch.

Walker Smalling Cahill Someone
Carrick Alli
Sterling Rooney Young

He is a Milner type, but I don't think that's such a bad thing.

His passing range is very good too.
