We will not get anywhere unless Carrick is in the center of midfield. Yes he was poor on Sunday against West Brom but international football is a different kettle of fish and not as intense as the PL. If you're going to stack the line up with young players with little International experience you are going to need Carrick's composure and experience to guide them through on the pitch.

Drinkwater should be starting. Cahill has been good last few months. Smelling has been probably the best CB in the league this year. Clyne probably with bertrand as back up...rb all pretty poor.

Nobody has cemented the left back position. It's not perfectly balanced, as Vardy is not a winger, but we have to find a way to play him and Kane - clearly the best English players of late.
Roy won't pick this team - we know he has his old favourites - but he should.

Not being an England fan I hadn't realised just how shallow the current talent pool really is

I dont know cinci atleast we have a choice of striker now in sturridge,kane,vardy and rooney. Delle ali is decent, drinkwater is decent, and henderson and wilshere aint scrubs(although henderson isnt great), cahill is still very good at times and smalling looks a real player. Our central players are not bad, just the surrouding parts.
