Whoever he chooses, we're average, it's not just the players though it's the style of play - it just doesn't suit who we have.

I think alli, Barkley and sterling have better link up play

I'd possibly accept Lallana going if it was at the expense of Walcott, or some other average entity.

Alli gives the ball away more than Lallana for sure

I think we should stop thinking were good and trying to play like spain and hit teams on the counter, no matter how crap they are. we have pace to burn up front and players like delle ali and barkley who can carry the ball up the field quickly

He's actually been ok since the start of the year. Lallana just adds something different so has to go. Barkley should definitely be in the mix. If you want an X factor and something different he has to be in the mix.

He has been. Much better actually, personally I think he looks fitter - possibly a beneficiary of the seemly much maligned Klopp training regime?

Still don't think he's done enough to start though. Squad yes, start no.

How do you want to play though? I don't think you can play high tempo football without going a bit more direct. We did all that once before, it didn't work.

I hope Woy's been watching Leicester's style closely, it still won't work but it's worth a go with these players.

England don't have a Mahrez. I suppose Barkley can break from deep

It depends who we are playing surely? Our approach against Wales is going to be different than playing against Italy, Belgium or Portugal.

True but lallana plays a too safe. I never see his nice passes putting people in on goal. That said I don't see much of him

Also indicative of how poor England are that Sterling is guaranteed a starting spot despite having a poor season

Kane and Alli should come as a pair. They have great link up play and know one another's game. Why break up a good thing? They should pick themselves for the number 9 and 10 roles and if Hodgson was smart enough that's what he'd do.

Without Wilshere the midfield is going to struggle to move the ball into the forward areas, meaning Rooney will get frustrated and start dropping deep to get the ball and then do fack all with it. Can't wait.

Wilshere doesn't deserve to go becuse he's a crock and Drinkwater and Noble are in form!!!

On France - is Benzema allowed to start? What with the scandal? Payet is totally out of favour. I dont think the final is a must....they may draw Germany in the quarters. Luck of the draw.

With England I still think they should buiid it around the Spurs spine - we have been the most organised side overall, keep the ball well, are sound defensively and score plenty. Its not translated in to being top, but you have five players ready to be added to.

Kane, Alli, Dier plus the fullbacks. Its a nice framework to fill with others

Tbf to Noble he can feel hard done by that he's not been capped when he's at a similar level to the likes of Henderson/Drinkwater/Mason

Payet is in the latest squad so he has a chance to prove himself to the manager

Is there a formation that doesn't include midfielders?

======
They cannot face Germany in the quarters. It is pre-ordained.
They could face them in the second round if both are runners up or one finishes 3rd in their group.
You would get long odds on that.
