He was never a good cm, in my opinion. But he was an effective player in attack when playing further forward at Everton, this is no longer the case. So I'd say it's both in that respect.
Kante gotta be worth around £30 million quid to us?
Mahrez and Vardy likewise.
Reckon all 3 will start the 2016/17 season here and possibly all to finish that season here also.
Yeah same. I don't see Vardy leaving any time soon, Mahrez and Kante I think are destined for one of the big boys if they maintain this form.
I think well sell oscuuunt this season and replace him with marez. Id rather sign drinky ๐ธ than kanty though. Drinky๐ธ is better fir me.
I think we've got a chance of keeping our star players for one more season just because of how much they love it our club.
But let's be honest, Kante and Mahrez may have their heads turned and we've got no chance if one of the really big boys come in (Barca, Madrid etc).
Leicester clearly can't compete with the likes of Utd and Arsenal in wages but I don't want to. A load of overpaid average players is not what I want to see. It must sicken Utd fans knowing how much Fellani earns. He's hoop!
Those who don't know our club don't know our owners that well. They are phenomenal. Whatever happens to 1 or 2 players, they will continue to execute their plan of uolding a team capable of challenging for Europe in a slow and sustainable way.
Can't argue with that. Even if it means we drop a bit next year, as long as we avoid relegation the plan is still on.
Mersey, that's fair, but the point was raised about Leicester being a club that competes financially with these clubs, and I just don't see it.
Nothing wrong with that, these are some of the top ten richest clubs in the world, Leicester are not.
I don't want us to pay our players silly money, just realistic wages, otherwise, if it goes titts-up we could be financially in trouble.
Success has to be sustainable to pay top, top wages.
Incentive bonuses in addition to a decent salary keeps a players feet on the ground and keeps him hungry to achieve his/the clubs goals/ambitions.
Agree play the pitch. We need to build sensibly. We don't want to be the next Leeds!
Darren The King - I don't think any of us would disagree with you. Well, maybe one person.
I think what Arro is saying is our owners don't NEED to sell anyone to spend big. They have a lot of cash. However, the lay doesn't mean to say they won't if they can reinvest the cash sensibly, or if a player might demand to leave.
Mersey
It's going to be interesting to see how things pan out either way.
If Leicester can maintain themselves near the top of the table there will be a huge increase in the wage bill, it goes with the territory.
I think Leicester will probably need more the one good season before they start to really start splashing the cash.
We're already seeing that Darren The King. Our 25k fairly consistent wages are now turning in to 80k a week for our top players.
I still struggle to comprehend how on earth anyone doing anything warrants that kind of money.
I hope it doesn't break the one thing that got us here. Our "all in it together" team spirit.
I can't see Leicester losing anyone this season, but realistically next year will probably be their only in the CL
This would mean going to CL wages isnt realistic and if done just to match the big clubs, could end up being detrimental to the club overall

Yeah I await the day Leicester pay one or their players over £250k a week and have a wage bill over £200m a year.
Having billionaire owners doesn't count for much when they're limited as to how much they can actually invest in the team.
This is an issue Leicester may face if they want to carry on dining at the top of the table. It's not just the best players but the whole squad that will be looking for a wage packey befitting a team in that tier.
This is why Arsenal always had a much higher wage bill than Spurs despite spending less on transfers, they were an established CL team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I can't ever see us paying that either and I would never want us to either but let's be realistic here, nobody is going to be paying Mahrez or Kante that kind of money, not a chance. We could compete up to say £100k/week and that would be a lot more realistic in terms of what they would be offered.
If they're on £35k now then Chelsea, City, Arsenal or United or whoever else aren't all of a sudden going to be quadrupling or more, not realistic.
Also with United, Chelsea and possibly City not even playing CL football and not finishing in the top four then financially they won't be as well off as they won't be receiving the money that a top four finish commands plus the extra CL money so how will they be able to afford it while adhering to FFP?
They'll only have gate receipts and merchandising and they won't make that much money from that. I'd say sponsorship will be less too because who will want to spend huge sums in sponsorship to clubs that aren't in the CL?
Leicester are getting global fans now and that is an absolute reality, Leicester shirts are what you see in Algeria now for example and kids want to be Leicester players. A study of 3000 10-12 year olds found that 56% of kids said Vardy was their favourite player with Mahrez second. United and Livrrpool just arent as attractive anymore, you're time at the top is on the decline and that is a reality.
Those 56% will change to Rashford or Sturridge if they end up scoring 20 goals next season though
Asian fans have always been big supporters of United and Liverpool but now fans in Thailand are switching their allegiance to Leicester.

In Algeria all Leicester games are shown live and bars are packed every time we play because of Mahrez.

In Japan people are crazy about Leicester because of Okazaki. I talk to my mates over there and they're all behind us and the pubs in Osaka all show Leicester games and we have a huge following now.

I wear my City shirt in Australia and have people stopping to tell me they're behind us. One guy with his two kids carrying a rugby ball shouted across the road and said "You must be really proud mate, hope you do it". I was on the train and a guy told me he's made loads of money betting on Leicester and used to support Liverpool but now supports Leicester. Aussie's love an underdog and they love the way we play football and think it's brilliant.

It's Vardy's rise that they're all behind, the fact he has come from nowhere and it gives everyone hope. He's a true inspiration to everyone. They don't support Kane so that's not true at all.
But once Vardy is risen and is plodding along getting 10 goals a game people won't care about him and will move onto the next thing.
People are fickle, its in their nature. Then football fans are next level fickle, then children!
Why will he only get 10 goals? No reason at all is there. He's a very good player and a very good finisher and he has always scored loads of goals and will continue to score. He's 29 and still has years at the tol and the way we play he will keep scoring. He's a goal scorer, end of!
History doesn't support that he's a goal scorer though, plus his pace is an asset and that will diminish eventually.
I'm not going to pretend to know what's happening in the future, but for me Vardy had one ridiculous purple patch but all the other evidence points to him being a decent goalscorer, but nothing more.

----------------------------------------------------------------------What are you talking about? You obviously know nothing about his history then. He's scored a goal every 1.97 games. He's scored bag fulls his whole career at lower levels and that is why he has moved up divisions the way he has.
He took time to adapt to the Championship but then scored 16 goals to help us win the league and has now found his level in the PL and proven he can score against the best in the world. He's scored past Cech, De Gea and now Neuer.
You're clueless and have no idea about him as a player. All pundits, media and opposition managers understand what he's all about but blind fans of other clubs who don't see his real value come out with shiitt like you do. It just shows that other fans really have no idea.

But you keep kidding yourself that he's shiiitt and just had a purple patch
I never said he was shiiiiit, you're putting words in my mouth. I just don't see him as a consistent 20 goal a season striker and nothing you've shown me there has convinced me otherwise.
Only my opinion as i see it, obviously you're better placed to make a judgement given you've seen him a lot more, but with that comes the rose tinted glasses effect

Maybe he won't score 20 again because he's likely to get a lot more attention and chances will be fewer but he's more than goals, his all round game is top drawer and that's not rose tinted, that's purely appreciation for what he actually brings to the team. When he doesn't score he still plays well, is always dangerous, he chases everything and wins back possession by forcing defenders to make mistakes or just launch it back up field or out of play to alleviate pressure.
Give me a choice of Mahrez or Vardy to be on the bench I will say Mahrez every time, that's how good he is.
Fair play.
