I read the story on sky sports this morning and my first thought was, if they wouldn't back Billy after 2 successive play off finishes, why did McClaren think they would be any different with him.
Difference is Billy was a motivator, we saw it at Derby making average players look half decent. McClaren however doesn't strike me as having the same effect on a team.
The link says he 'could' leave.
So it's not worth the paper it's written on.
Still, seeing Forest in turmoil is a lovely start to my weekend.

------------------------
Cos that's what they told him
These reports are beyond the normal - we are signing x,y or z. It sounds more like McClaren's people may be sending ND a message - 'back me in the loan market or I go'.
It's not about whether there are any billionaires waiting to take over or any wealthier owners. I don't think anybody would blame ND if he just told the truth. Swansea and Norwich got promoted without spending huge, as did Blackpool. The problem is, if you sack a manager that got you to two successive play offs and say it is because you want to make the next step. Then you employ and ex England manager who could have hung on for a prem job, you have clearly made a statement of intent. They if they can't sign players cause of FFP then surely they should have told SM. Thats the problem, they don't tell the truth. They pretend we are a huge club that is going for automatic promotion but then act like a mid table team. Why can't they just say, look we can't afford the wages of high profile players so we are gonna rely on good young players, team spirit and a proven manager! Then the expectations are where they should be and everyone is happy. But no, they talk Like we are one of the major players and then completely fail to act on it!
TEG,
Then common sense should prevail. You might aswell just give the job to pleat!
im calling bullsh!t on this one.
Not seen any direct quotes anywhere from McClaren mentioning anywhere that he wants to quit and any that ive seen are out of context. All sources are unnamed, could be the cats ars for all we know. And im not quite sure how him going home relates to him quitting forest but hey, when working away apparently noone goes home now and then. And pretty much every article is a copy and pasted article from another site, i dont think any of these papers know what there talking about.
I think its just a hit-and-hope article based on a hunch and the other papers dont want to miss out. Saying that, might scare the AP into getting us some bloody players

I don't even want to joke about that Tommo cos the way things are goin it might well happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am actually getting quite sick of ND and MA in the way they penny pinch and run the club.
McClaren has been sold a pup. I wouldn't blame him if he walks, that would wipe the smile off thier smug faces.
There's a Sky reporter claiming to have spoken to him last night though Forest Monkey and I'm sure he wouldn't be reporting this if no conversation had even took place

did they actually say 'he wants to leave'?
Cause you know what the media are like when filling in the gaps
He is leaving. Think about it. How can he stay now? What would it be like if he did stay? It would be almost too weird after this.
He will leave you if you dont get some loan signings in thats for sure.
its on sky sports news gone on a short hol with is wife to consider his future!
What ever the outcome this does team spirit no good at all.
Well done ND and MA you could not run one in a brewery,Do us all a favour and P off

I just thought of a funny headline.
The Wally Takes The Trolly.
I know it is no time for jokes.
FFS people are so Fkin stupid.
The article title is McClaren TO quit.
The made up newspaper article says McClaren COULD quit.
And some people wonder where the lasy journalists get their "quotes" from. Look no further then the dumb idiots on here.

Or maybe they know this for sure cos they've hacked their phones??
Im not surprised about this. If McClaren had been promised more than hes got then hes not gonna be happy is he? Billy got sacked because Doughty knew Billy wanted cash to buy players...more than Doughty was prepared to spend.
