junction,
he actually can't tackle and how he hasn't seen red is nearly as big a miracle as lesta winning the league......
===================
Exactly. Stating the number of tackles he makes as a positive is a bit pointless when the result of the tackles is a foul to the opposition.
Clearly i'm not his biggest fan but this reminds me of the stat i read the other day, which is that 15% of accidents are caused by drink drivers, which means there is a hell of a lot of sober drinkers causing all the accidents.

Would you have him in your starting 11 and if not who replaces him?

A lot of of Lamela's fouls are deliberate infringements, to hold up play and allow the team to re-group. Nothing wrong with that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
finally. some sense.
gone are the days where his rash tackling was a liability. he is a dirty player, but they are mostly strategic fouls, which is fine.

Exactly and with players like him in the team along with Dier is why Tottenham is no longer a soft touch, and why we fight for everything.
So refreshing to see.
He's like our very own James Milner
Lamela had 9 successful tackles against MU .The most in the match. Saw a stat that said he is the top tacking attacking midfielder this season. As said his fouling is strategic mostly in positions where free kicks cannot hurt us. Bad for our fair play stays I know.

He's learnt that though...it used to be just outside our box
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Did my head in. That and giving it away in silly areas
Now However we miss him when he doesn't play. Against Liverpool we really could have used his bite and energy from the front. Not to mention his quality on the ball
Fernandinho does a pretty good job of it when given the opportunity. Has slotted in at CB and AM well enough. Scores more than NDJ ever did, defends better than Yaya.

Sir Tottenham of Hotspur
It's a bit unfair to say all his tackles are fouls
======================
I didnt say all his tackles are fouls - i just said a stat suggesting him making lots of tackles is a positive is slightly flawed when we know he is the biggest fouler in the whole league.
He's magic you know, Mauricio Pochettino,
Would you have him in your starting 11 and if not who replaces him?

Not in the Premiership games - no.
I would choose Chadli, Son, Mason, Onamah or even Carroll over him...

Tbf, Lamela is one of the better pressers in the PL.
Lamela is also one of the most one footed footballers to grace the PL.

you cannot help but laugh at chicken and his continued pathetic, immature tirade against Lamela. he is hurting that his view was wrong and he is too stubborn to change his mind. now despite the evidence infront his eyes he refuses to admit that he is an important player for us.
what a joke of a poster
Chronic
It's amusing stuff eh
Carroll over Lamela confirms it though, Chicken is a troll. He loves thisshit, playing (a very poor) pantomime villain.
What matters is the standing ovation the kid got, this better represents the fans appreciation than some guy on a forum ranting about tackle success rates
The reason people have a hard time figuring out what Lamela brings is that his skillset amd style are unusual for a winger. If he were in a box to box central role people wouldn't think anything of it.
Luka, did he actually say he would pick Carroll over Lamela? What a clueless buffoon he really is. Not sure why you guys are entertaining him. The guy is the biggest troll on here and loves winding spurs fans up. Just do what i did and filter him. The only time you will ever see the pr** comments is when someone quotes him. Sums up the poster when he enters a spurs match thread just so he can take the p** out of Lamela's miss against United and crying about how he should be taken off for Son who he fails to recognise as being absolute dog sh** all season.
The guy is the biggest c*** on this forum and that includes the likes of Mafia boy etc... Oh and before chicken starts bullsh** you all like he is fond of saying i log out to see his comments....he wishes!!! Unfortuantely i still see him being quoted on match threads etc... i wish someone would just go out and put him down like an old dog so we don't have to put up with him anymore

because as much as i try to ignore him, i don't like his irrational slating of spurs players.
same way as i argue with you over baldie, who is an excellent chairman, and who we are very lucky to have
Let's be honest chronic it's not spurs players he slates, it's Lamela in particular. What makes me laugh about him is he will be waxing lyrical over Hueng Min Son who has been absolutely dog s** pretty much all season yet has the cheek to be consistently slating Lamela I actually think Son could be an excellent player for us and i'm hoping next season he will show that but this season he has been total dog s** but old chicken thinks the sun shines out the back of his a** whilst trying to convince everyone that Lamela is cr** joker of a poster
