Fans on here make me laugh, you really do. Do you honestly believe that Southampton or Athletico Madrid would allow their managers just leave on a whim ?

I can imagine it now, Arsenal on the phone to Athletico, "Hi, we want to get rid of our manager, yours is pretty good, can we have him ?"

Cue the raft of laughter emanating out of Madrid.

"I see the "careful what you wish for" brigade are out again, ironically most are Spurs fans who are probably rubbing their hands together with glee."

Who, despite loving Poch, are telling us how getting Southampton's manager to step up is a bad idea

Yes I know. As if Dortmûnd would let Klopp walk out, or Bayern allow Guardiola to announce mid season he was leaving them for Man City.
Managers simply don't leave their current club. Ever.

Chelsea seem to have no problem getting managers from others clubs. But yea i can see your point.

Can you imagine the clowns that a d1 k law and Ivan Gadiz trying to lure a new manager. They can't even do transfers properly without messing it up.

Did anyone think that Pochettino could turn Spurs into title challengers when he was at Southampton?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, I rated him and really wanted him (as opposed to the other option of LVG), but didn't expect such a transformation in less than two years. All of us would've been happy with a decent tilt at 4th this season.

---------------------------------------------------

Exactly, you don't need a big name to replace Wenger. Lots of young talented managers out there who could do a much better job with the resources available to Arsene.

But you lot are making claims that these managers will come to you, the only one you have a chance of getting is Koeman, and I doubt Southampton would be happy with letting him go. Simeone would never leave a club that is challenging for honours every season for a club happy to finish 4th every year and not care if they just make up the numbers in every other competition they are in.

Wenger is paid £8Mil per year ffs, plenty of manager out there would jump ship for that sort of money.

Chelsea got Conte for £5Mil per year ffs. and i very much doubt Simone is on anything near £4-5Mil a year at Atletico. Maybe the wants a new challenge. Until we ask the question and tell him what we have to offer then who knows.

forgot to add, just because wenger is happy with 4th doesnt mean that what a new manager will be happy to do.

A manager with some actual tactics would have walked to the PL with this team. A new manager would have know we needed at the very least a CF.

Joachim Low is contracted to Germany until 2017, and (depending on how they get on this summer) could become available. Or at least an avenue worth exploring.

So what is ti then ? Are the board supporting Wenger ?

If not then why is it his fault ?

Do you think the board would be any different with another manager ?

If the board shared the same belief as the fans on here Wenger would have gone ages ago, so it's obvious they are happy with him, so there is more chance of him getting an extension than getting the sack.

What would a new manger do that is different to Wenger ? Perhaps he would argue with the board and show you all that it is all their fault and not his, but unless the board support the new manager differently then you will still be in the same position.

Apparently a new manager won't change anything, a manager has nothing to do with tactics, style of play, training or transfer policy at all. Poch for example doesn't do anything differently to what Sherwood or AVB did, he's just lucky.

Poch has got decent players though, Arsenal have Sanchez and Ozil.

That is the difference.

Wenger is all powerful at Arsenal, Lord. That is no secret.
The faith in Wenger because of his incredible knowledge of the game and past glories is too great for the board to question.

There is no manager better than AW to challenge these managers, maybe AW has a good summer, buys well and buys big and goes out in a blaze of glory and is welcomed back again as a hero.

So the difference is Spurs have decent players and Arsenal have great ones? Interesting logic.

KSE (the board) have publically acknowledged they have little or no desire for the club to be successful (silverware). Which has been similar throughout their sporting franchises. Whether a replacement manager would receive any additional backing from KSE is therefore doubtful.

However the problems within AFC are greater that KSE’s inability to run the club. The club need a new approach. The fan base is grossly divided, and atmosphere at the Emirates is toxic. Which has undoubtedly been absorbed by the players.

For all his achievements at AFC, AW remaining at the club is not helping it progress.

No, Spurs at the moment have a far superior 1st 11 than Arsenal that is why Poch is doing better. They have a better keeper, better defenders, and better strikers, the only players that Arsenal have that would get into the Spurs side is Sanchez and Ozil.

Arsenal at the moment are more on a par with Liverpool or Manchester United player for player, so I reckon Wenger is doing a decent job with the players he has.

Now the fact that he does not have better players is another issue, and one you should be discussing as we do not know who is to blame for that.

posted on 19/4/16

If a new manager does come in and we burn sacrifices before him, it won't make a difference, there will never be another manager with a name so close to the word Arsenal, the clubs name.

Shame their far superior team couldn't beat us in any of the three games we played. They would only be 1 point off the top
