I side with Cinci on this one, Tam.

NFL Draft day today

For the record, I don't think Kenny is good. I think he is a mediocre manager at this level as I did last year, when I thought his meddling in November stopped us making the play offs. Listening to Cinci though, you would have thought he was the worst manager in our recent history, as with McCarthy, whilst Solbakken has excuses made for him. It is this I take exception to.

I think we are more than likely to bring someone in who is also mediocre at this level (like Nigel Clough or Steve Clarke who are mid table experts) or take a risk on someone unproven, which really could go either way. I would only want Jackett to be sacked if we are going to get someone better. I see that as unlikely given our recent track record with appointments and the unproven route could be disasterous given the instability at the club at present.

Still waiting for that apology Sunny.

I think Kenny is likely just mediocre Tam, BUT this year he has been worse than appalling.

And i have never felt McCarthy is awful either, just an extremely limited prem manager in the same mould as Warnock or Holloway.

As for sacking him now? I would but i also understand the opposite stance.

I can see part of the points that both tam and Cyp are making here. The fit squad we have had this season is not as strong as last season so no surprise we haven't done as well. And the recruitment has been the biggest problem with hardly any of those we have brought in being as good as the players they were intended to replace. I think Jackett has managed at an even level in his three seasons with us. Won league one with a team that most tipped to do just that. Finished just outside the play offs with a team that most tipped to do that. And I think if you had given fans the foresight to know we were going to lose Sako, Dicko and Afobe I think most would have tipped us to struggle to score goals and to finish mid table this season. I might say change the manager if I felt we would bring someone in better but I don't, and getting a new owner and ceo are much more important changes that the club needs

nice gut

shockingly bad manager

he has to go for us to get out the quicksand of depression he's dragged us into

I completely agree with the sentiment about only sacking him if there is someone better available BUT if a manager underperforms by a large enough margin then clubs really have no choice but to replace them.

Has Jackett underperformed by that margin?

It's borderline for me. Two more losses and a 16th / 17th place finish and I think it would be dangerous to keep him.

That sort of finish would mean he would need a good start to next season to avoid early pressure, as I expect next season's squad to be weaker than this season's I can't see that good start materialising which could lead to a midseason sacking and the perils associated with that.

Does this mean Sunny isn't going to apologise?

I wouldn't hold your breath, though perhaps you could be the bigger man and apologise first for the numerous times you have been out of order?
