Clattenburg is the best ref in the country hands down and Moss is the worst.
Moss was fourth official about six weeks ago and he told the Birch he wasn't allowed to stand in the tunnel where he has stood every single week since time began and he sent him to the stands. Anyone who thinks Moss doesn't have something against us needs to think again. The bloke is a blatant cheat!
You mention it in your article, but I thought it was really notable at the end of the match when Ranieri walked onto the pitch, made sure the camera was right next to him and pointing at him, then went and shook Clattenberg warmly by the hand for a job well done. He refused to speak about Moss last week, but this was like his own quiet protest.
Regarding Clattenberg's performance itself, it's easy to look at it in comparison to last week and granted it was an easier game to referee but it's worth noting a few key points:
- He was expressive and decisive in his actions. If the crowd or the players were about to go up for a foul he made a clear signal about what his decision was and why. (Got the ball, player has to be stronger, etc.) Whether you agree with every decision or not you can accept that these things happen quickly and that the ref gives the perception of knowing what he's doing. I think you can accept that.
- His fitness showed. While Jon Moss was having to give decisions from 20 yards away, Clattenberg was on the spot. I thought it was telling that he was able to keep up with play during Schlupp's quick break forward that resulted in Ulloa's second goal. Granted he didn't have a decision to make, but he made it there in case he did.
- Keeping your cards in your pocket is part of general game management, where again he was able to defuse some situations before they happened - having a word with Huth and Drinkwater for robust challenges. That helps with both keeping the offender in check and letting the opposition know that things are being dealt with.
Clattenberg even reminded me a bit of the legendary Collina yesterday, in his actions and his positioning. You can see that he's really worked hard on his game over the last 5 years.
Clattenburg is actually a Newcastle fan, he's always going to favour the more northern teams!
I thought Man Utd were still angry with him for his performance when we beat them 5-3 at the King Power last season? Unless Leicester how somehow moved north of Manchester over the last couple of days and I haven't noticed.
Yeah I thought Clattenburger was excellent
Yeah he is excellent. Hes in line for the Champions League final if Man City dont get there. Well deserved too.
Surely the sweet FA should realise what a big mistake they made last week in letting their top refs go on a course, and leaving us with the odious apology for a ref that we had to endure.
you mean the ref that gifted you a point with the worst decision of the game? That ref?
No, the one who cost us 2 points with the worst decision of the game by not giving Reid a second yellow for diving. That ref.
Yeah it was all planned for the ref to f you over...

By far the worst decision was the late pen, don't kid yourself.
Pity so many LCFC fans won't stop banging on about a ref's performance.

Right lets assess the refs whole performance.
Vardy gets dragged down by Ogbonna in the first half which was a blatant penalty but he didn't give it.
Vardy gets booked but doesn't make contact so it wasn't a yellow card.
Ogbonna then pulls Vardy back who tries to get in front of him and they tangle legs and he goes down. No dive and no yellow card meaning no red card.
Morgan pulls back Reid who dives forward wher. he should have fallen backwards winning a dubious penalty which should have been a second yellow for diving.
Huth then gets dragged down by Ogbonna again and the ref failed to award a second blatant penalty.
He then finally awards a soft penalty to make up for the two blatant ones he didn't award.
His whole performance from start to finish was absolutely shocking!!
Nah Arro I'm not bothered breaking it down, I know he was bad for both sides but IMO the worst decision of the day went in your favor.
I'm just sick of hearing LCFC fans moan like this, any team can say the same of a ref, FFS I could write a book on it v us, and how it cost us trophies over the years.
It's boring mate.
Ogbonna then pulls Vardy back who tries to get in front of him and they tangle legs and he goes down. No dive and no yellow card meaning no red card
Clearly that is not what happened
How does a player go up in the air when you tangle legs FFS.
This being the same ref who awarded a penalty at Forest when the ball hit Mills' arm while he was on the floor and couldn't avoid it, it was never a penalty. Schmeichel got booked for protesting and after the penalty was conceded he kicked the ball to the half way line and got booked again and sent off. Unbelievable and the worst sending off I have ever seen in my life!
The Birch has stood in the tunnel for every single game for the past 40 years but was told he couldn't stand there by the 4th official who was none other than Moss. Ridiculous and blatantly proves the bloke has an issue with us. He's a cheat!

Liverpool are lucky as fook and you were gifted two penalties against us at Anfield last season, one hitting Morgan in the face!
Arro come off it Vardy threw his legs into the lad then dived into the fecking air It was hilarious how bad an attempt to win a pen it was.
It was 100% an attempt to win a pen, and I've no problem with a striker doing this, Vardy got it badly wrong this time and got rightly punished.
And jog on with "Liverpool are lucky" how many hand balls this season alone could have been given v you lot FFS.
Refs do us all over it's not unique to you

Yeah he played for it by getting his leg in front of Ogbonna who was dragging him back and they tangled legs so it wasn't a dive. I think you need to use your brain a little here and think about the fact that Vardy twisted his body to make sure he didn't land on his wrist, it's pretty obvious what he did and pretty obvious why he would want to avoid landing on a broken wrist
Elneny and Iwobi both blatantly dive with no contact and Moss books neither????
Hand ball is hand to ball not ball to hand, I find it amazing that people still don't understand this rule. Several referees including Dermot Gallagher and Howard Webb have assessed the so called penalty shouts and have said they weren't penalties. You have nothing to argue
Kneerash, let's get this straight: When a referee has a bad game, even if it's a really bad game, you can understand that. We can complain and we can talk about whether he's capable of refereeing in this league and against two teams who were willing to get so physical against each other in Leicester and West Ham, but you have a bit of a moan and move on.
When a referee tries to do your whole club over with a match report that's a blatant pack of lies because the crowd have shown their displeasure over his performance, that's more difficult to forget.
To then come and imply that said referee actually did us a favour is like prodding an angry bear.
OK Arro what I saw was a player trying to win a pen and leaping into the air, you may have seen something different, I don't get how a player can go up unless they physically try to cause you know science.
Bollox to the idea he did this to avoid breaking a wrist so you're saying he leaped like a salmon to avoid a broken wrist He did to try con the ref don't be trying to convince yourself otherwise.
I know Moss was poor, what's worse is hearing LCFC fans go on and on and on and on about it
We've been done over by bad decisions countless times, like every club, it's the fan base who constantly bemoan this that annoys me, I'd call a Liverpool fan out on it as soon as a Leicester fan, it's fecking boring mate.

He didn't leap like a salmon at all. Their legs tangled and that's not even disputable and at that pace of course he's going to go down, it's unavoidable.
When he was in the air he twisted his body so that he didn't land on his wrist because if he hadn't then his full weight would have landed on it. You have noticed he's been wearing a cast since the Villa game yeah? The bones haven't healed properly and of course landing directly on it isn't going to do him a lot of good so he twists his body to ensure he landed on his arm and not his full weight directly on his wrist. If you can't understand that then wow
