Noel...name me the last two winners of the Europa League?? Go on...give it a go.....

They wouldn't get destroyed Kash that's just Hyperbole.
Villarreal are one of lowest average possession teams in La Liga. They don't really look to dominate midfield.
They are direct to their front two in a 4-4-2.
These games won't be anything like the Dortmund games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A midfield of Milner, Lallana and Allen will get exposed. Milner and Lallana have hardly played in midfield throughout there careers while Allen needs a bit of muscle next to him or someone with a defensive mindset like Lucas.
Don't know much about Villarreal but a weak midifield is a weak midfield

Ignore him he's a clear pleb.
The incentive we've had in the previous game (United and Dortmund being massive clubs) has now gone as Villarreal aren't exactly an enormous club which European history like the other two and the players only ever seem up for it in the biggest games
======================================
I agree my worry is how inconsistent we are...just look at Saturday... they all thought it was job-done at half time.
If we have Lucas, Allen and Milner in midfield against a 442 we should (and I say should) control the centre of the park.
Villareal's 442 packs the centre...like Atletico & Leverkusen.
If the players can't get motivated for a European semi-final unless the opposition is top class then there is something very wrong.
Klopp will make sure they are up for it, that's for sure.

Then I'd start Lallana over Firmino, or take Sturridge out altogether and have a front 3 of Firmino, Coutinho and Lallana and Milner Allen Lucas in the centre.
Usual back 5 with Toure in for Sakho.

Yeah, ignore him, that's the type of stuff Barry Smith would come out with
They might pack the centre but they don't dominate the ball.
We are 5th in average possession in the PL, 18th in Europes top 5 leagues.
Villarreal are 18th in La Liga possession stats, 79th across top 5 leagues.
The game will be won and lost in the final 3rd.
Going to very tough, I was impressed by Villareal's defending last night, they are a good unit. We can't miss chances like we did against Dortmund.
Yeah defensively they are better than us, no doubt.
They don't create a lot though. In single figures for shots per game while we are in the top 10 in Europe with over 15.
We need to avoid mistakes that gift them chances. If we do that then the clinical nature of Firmino and Sturridge should be enough, IMO.
MF is key as always, if we can run them harass them and force mistakes, we may get some joy.
Got to fancy one of Studge, Firmino or Lallana to get a goal..hopefully
GB, as positive as you are spinning this article, unless you win the Europa, which in my opinion is still a big ask, your season would have been close to a disaster. No European footie next season, and miles behind the elite of the Prem.
F off Sandy you clueless crusty poo stain
The elite of the prem....CFC are behind us and we are 9 points of Arsenal and City with a game in hand and 4 points of Utd.
Dont tell me ONE flukey season and Spurs are the elite....ffs.
Spurs great season will probably have them in 2nd and CL for next year, Liverpool could win a EUROPEAN trophy and be in the CL next year...tell me, whos had a better season??
and miles behind the elite of the Prem.

Go easy on Sandy, he isn't happy with the way Hotspurs have blown their only chance of winning the league. Understandable really.
Tottenham - The Everton of London...soooo many shadows!
One good season in over 50 years and Sandy reckons Spurs are classed as elite of the PL
2 wins from a CL spot!

Of course they are. They're going to finish 2nd again in 2068.
But they will be hosting two NFL games which will be a "game changer".
