Not like the times to be so rude.

What do you think of it personally?

I swear the only reason for him to get a new contract is to send Piers over the edge.

This is a bigger wum than Wenger playing Flamini in midfield They couldn't wait until the season ended

Wont be surprised in the slightest if the board five Wenger 3 years and even a pay rise in the summer. They are totally happy with the way the club is. Money is coming in, happy days!

What a joke of a club, I guess the fans deserve more misery for still chanting 'One Arsene Wenger'.

It is funny how some people can read an article and interpret it the way they want.

The article never said that Wenger will extend!
It sais that the board want to offer him a 2 years extension. But it doesn't mean that he will accept it.
It even mentions that they need an answer by October so that they can "START" to look for a replacement if he decide to go at the end of his contract. Which means nothing has been decided yet.
In my opinion, he will go next summer, so just relax

Unfortunately 'contracts' aren't negotiated with only one party. If Wenger didn't want to extend he would never have negotiated it in the first place. This has been known for a couple of months. Morgan pretty much announced it a few weeks ago.

Piers Morgan said that the fans should make it as uncomfortable for him as possible so that he doesn't sign it. My fear is that he has already signed and they will announce it after a big name signing.

I completely disagree. Hate him or like him, Wenger is not stupid. He almost walked away after the FA cup final 2 seasons ago. He would have done so if we had lost to Hull. He only signed his extension after the final.
He knows he can't afford another season of failure so again, he won't sign the extension at the start of the season.

FFS, do you really believe that Wenger would turn down the chance to 'earn' another £16m+ for doing exactly what he's doing now with no requirement to actually achieve anything?

If you do then you really are a fool.

I alluded to this extension back in January and it looks like I was right

Wenger says he hasn't decided whether to stay beyond 2017 and says performance next season will determine what happens.
=============
As I said, he decided to extend after the final vs Hull. He'll do the same this time.
If results don't follow, he will be gone next summer.

So naive. NOBODY turns down the chance to 'earn' another £16m+ for doing the same job they've done for the past 20 years

Arsene Wenger dismisses a report in today's Times about a new two-year contract. "It is completely wrong, I don't know where it has come from, You can treat that as an invention."

There you have it. Wenger to sign contract extension before next season starts.

Do you honestly think anyone would walk away from £8m a season?

And look at his age! Apart from coaching France what does he have to look forward to?

If Wenger did not want to sign he wouldn't have negotiated a contract. Its quite that simple. Wenger isn't going to walk away. He will need to be pushed. Thats why I was always in favour of offering him the director of football role and allow a new manager to takeover. That maybe something that Wenger is open to and would allow the board to make a smooth transition that has to come sooner than later because of his age.

I think he'll stay for next season for sure. Then sign a new deal if he does well. He can sign a deal when he wants, the board will always have one on the table for him, there's no rush. He isn't going anywhere soon.

But I won't be surprised if he extends this summer. Especially if we get second and sign couple of good players. He'll undoubtably extend then. In fact I don't think the board will spend any big money unless they know Wenger will stay. Because they know they get top 4 money back with Wenger .

His last 2 (or 3?) contracts he ran down to the end then signed so can't see any different now when we're doing worse. These stories only get put out to wind up our fans, and it works. If we have a bad season then he'll walk away, think only a title win will make him sign again.

Completely agree with this.

Wenger has sooo many flaws but I don't think he is only motivated by the money. He could have got more by moving to PSG for example.
I'd say more that he is stubborn and like to prove people wrong, hence why if he fails next season, he will walk away.
