TBH if he doesn't get top 4 I'd be happy for him to go for exactly that reason, think the fans would start to turn, not that they are currently wildly enthusiastic. Even if we do get top 4 we'd probably need a good start to the season.
Problems like that aside I would expect us to start improving, the way I see it LVG has been stripping the squad down whilst replacing some of it, albeit not always hugely successfully but I see it being about building back up after this.
Although not quite to the bloated levels our squad was before, maybe a little bigger than now just with a few less injury prone players.
I would expect you to be better next season, I suppose some of it could come down to if Liverpool win the EL and have CL next season it could boost their potential signings.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Many will disagree with this but I actually think Van Gaal has built quite a nice squad at United. Hes just built it out of order is all. You need probably 3 first team signings and a slightly more competent manager and i think youll see quite a strong united side.
Most of the players in your squad are simply suffering from not being coached properly. Again something we saw with Brendan, Lallana, Lovren, Origi, Milner, Firmino, Allen and even Can didnt look particularly impressive under Rodgers, now they are all important members and some are key first teamers.
Someone competent will get better out of the likes of Schneiderlin, Herrera, Depay and possibly Mata.

Op this could have been a good article but you ruined it with the Lewandowski drivel.

United fans seem able to give a fair assessment of everyone apart from their own club. If you don't think Klopp has done such an ace job having just come into a team struggling badly then I wonder how much worse off LVG should be. It'll be his third year soon. He's spent hundreds of millions and United have gone backwards if anything and therefore thrown away a perfect opportunity to kick on. They play the worst footie in the league and will probably miss out on CL football for the 2nd time in 3 years.
So 2 years and 250m spent just to be four points above Klopp who has spent nothing and been in the job 7 months only. You have to wonder for the mental state of anyone who says stuff like 'the gap to United has increased since Klopp joined' as a stick to beat Klopp with because by that logic Liverpool should be no where near United, but they are.
If you think Klopp has not done well then you should also be wondering how the bojangles LVG still has a job and arranging for planes to fly over OT.
Talk about not seeing the log in your own eye but the speck in another's.

Hmmmm.
A spending competition. During these years of LVG no other club has spent any amount on transfers or wasted millions?

Rashford stands out as a class act. He'll be the pick of the crop there.
We have our own youngster who stands out too in ojo, most excited I've been about someone from our academy since, well a long time.
Although I hear good things about canos, and he is expected to feature today so am looking forward to seeing how he does
Canos is a player I would love to see make his debut. He has the quality to fit in straight away, he did well at Brentford but with better players around him he will progress.
You seen much of him ARE? I've seen literally nothing but I keep hearing his name in a very good way
If you think Klopp has not done well then you should also be wondering how the bojangles LVG still has a job

Don't know if you've been living under a rock but that's exactly what we're all wondering.

They're good enough to be regularly playing in the 5th best side in the country, whilst stifled by a dreadful set of tactics. With a bit of freedom they could be dynamite. Varela and Rashford in particular.
------
It can be argued that the more regularly they play these kids the further behind they fall from the leaders. Over the season United must have probably occupied every position from first to what? seventh?
United play in a safe and compact way, if you like. Score less and concede less. Their current position/success/failure is mainly down to their system rather than the quality of the players they have, some of whom can be dynamite as you say. Players are rarely individually exposed in their system. A bit more freedom could be like separating the men from the boys, the wheat from the chaff in a survival for the fittest kind of thing. The freedom will allow some to establish themselves but will also expose others as not being up to scratch. Varela has impressed me the most there.
As I said I think two or maybe three could make it all the way but nothing like class of 92 stuff IMO. That in itself would still be brilliant utilisation of their academy though as we hardly see young players coming through the youth ranks all the way in England's top teams (that could be changing as well though, with Liverpool, Spurs and United now bringing players through).
You seen much of him ARE? I've seen literally nothing but I keep hearing his name in a very good way

I saw him play for the Barca academy albeit only clips of action and he was scoring a sackful of goals.
When he joined our academy he settled in well and I watched a few games from him then. He's very direct in his running and passing can beat a man and score goals, he's also very comfortable in possession as you would expect from a La Massia player.
He's also done well with Brentford from what I've seen and been able to adjust to the physical side of the game.

Canos is a beast, hit like 18 goals and around 16 assists for the academy last season(not exact figures)
Not sure where you got those stats from.
In U21's and UEFA youth league he scored 3 in 25 games and assisted 7.

There is another player however who may be primed to step up when the time comes. That would be Spanish teenager Sergi Canos.
Liverpool's official website reports he has scored an impressive 18 goals for academy sides at under-18 and under-19 level this season, including his first under-21 goal last week.
But the link to the club website is broken
